I still don't get it, I would be happy as hell if the Niners moved to Vegas!

That's 8 trips to Vegas per year, not including the playoffs!!!!!

"but the reason they got through the dark years was because of their loyal fans, who kept coming to the Coliseum despite the garbage product on the field"

Does she mean the same "loyal" fans that consistently failed to sell out their stadium for an entire decade? The same ones that forced the team to block off thousands of seats in order to lower the amount they had to sell to prevent their sorry games from being blacked out locally? The same ones that STILL failed to sell out the stadium even AFTER those seats were eliminated? The same ones that wished Al Davis would hurry up and die so somebody else would take over the team?

I wish people would rid themselves of this false idea that the raiders have an unwavering, die hard fanbase that always supports their team. Their fans are no different than any other team with multiple championships. There are a good amount that will always be fans, but there's also a bunch of fair weather clowns and, in the raiders' case, a bunch of people that chose the team because they thought the colors and logo are "bad ass" but don't actually watch or give a damn about football (but are still willing to trash talk other teams' fans anyway). The latter is typical of their fan base. Their fans are no better than most teams. Just because they have a couple hundred that dress like it's Halloween every time the raiders play at home doesn't make their fan base any more hardcore.

They're in Oakland for at least the next two years, maybe three. Maybe, they win a Super Bowl in the next few years.

With what defense?

they're a couple of players away from being really good. I thought they should have been more active in free agency.

This is so true! Some of these "die hard" Raider fans blabber about Niner fans not being loyal and not attending games. I know a few and asked them so where were you when the Raider games were blacked out during the 00's. And their response was, "What you mean blacked out?"

they lost a lot on the coaching side and Del Rio is just a motivator then a X/O guy

fans are thinking they will just come back without missing a beat..it won't be that easy

Hopefully this is real.

They were 26th in yards allowed and 20th in points allowed. They can't stop the run to save their lives. Their defense needs more than a couple players. Their offense is legit, but we all know what happens to teams with subpar defenses once the playoffs come around. Khalil Mack tends to disappear for long stretches and then has a monster game to boost his stats. He's inconsistent, but you would never know it listening to the announcers during a game. If you watch their games, however, you'll realize that's the truth. He's very much like Ahmad Brooks in that regard (a better version, obviously) - he has a monster game and then does nothing for 3 weeks. And he is by far their best defensive player.

They can rack up all the wins they want during the regular season, but they will be one and done again with their sorry defense.
