Supposedly they are in contract talks but they reportedly aren't going well.

How much do you think Carr is worth?
Carr is coming off his rookie contract, of course its going to be lower.

10 mill, he's still not a top tier guy to me

I wouldn't give him more than 12mil a year

Haha. If that happens there will be another QB on the market for us to try to sign if Cousins decides to go somewhere else. Before the injury I think he part of the MVP
talks....that's like $5 Mil added alone.
Not gonna lie .as much as I hate to admit it, Carr is a top ten qb.

With all due respect 49att, you are freaking clueless if you think Carr isn't worth more than $10 million/year. Mike Glennon got $15 million/year from the bears. And he's a career back up that's never done s**t in the league. You don't think one of the best young qb's in the game is gonna make more than that?

What I feel he should get paid, doesn't mean what he's going to get. But, it sounds like the raiders also feel what I'm feeling

Or they just don't want to put all that money into one player, which we all know doesn't always work out when you have to pay the rest of the team to keep it together. Mack and Cooper are coming up and they'll demand huge contacts.

+ Show all quotes leases can be nullified, St'L did it, SD did it..and i believe we did it. The rent is completely relevant. as after 2018 Oakland can charge more because it will be a year to year lease.

The Stadium Auth is just a dept under Oakland city, The Mayor will have the final say.

What you're failing to acknowledge is the Stadium Authority (which you correctly identify as just a department under the city) has stated that they lose money hosting the raiders, meaning the city of Oakland loses money every time the raiders play there. If it were possible to nullify their obligation to the raiders, they'd probably do it based on that alone.

Your main argument is that Oakland needs money, but they aren't getting any money by keeping the raiders around. Even if they decide to jack up the rent in an effort to make a profit by hosting them in 2019, Mark Davis is unlikely to accept the offer.

The point is they - as of right now - are not welcome at the Coliseum after 2018. You can call it butt hurt talk, but that's the word coming directly from the people running the venue. Whether you choose to believe them or not is up to you.

I just hope they don't come to Levi's, even if it's only for one year. We don't need that type of negativity in our stadium.
while they are losing money, they still need it for maintaining that place. Also, the Mayor is not going to nullify the lease when they were "Trying" to keep the Raiders in Oakland.

Mark Davis will have to accept the offer as it will be the cheapest offer or they will have to play at UNLV stadium which came up as a site to play at if they decided to pack up this year.

they just have no where else to go if things don;t work out in time and i can almost guarantee that Oakland will not deny them playing there for one more year

I agree on the dark cloud the fans will bring. I hope they don't play at Levi's. I'm certain that Davis wont fork over near 4 times the rent they are paying now to play one year at Levis

Let's just say I can see your points, but I don't agree because you're basing your stance under the assumption that the raiders make rational decisions. I don't see that in Mark Davis at all. I would probably agree with you if it were almost any other NFL team in question.

But at least we do agree on not wanting them at Levi's. And for me it's not because of their team, it's their fans. While most are probably respectable people just like any other team's fans, they have more than their fair share of lowlife scumbags that will deface anything with a 49ers logo on it.

Whatever happens, as long as they don't come to Levi's for any amount of time, I'm cool with it. Mark Davis is a stubborn man just like his father was, so I would not put it past him playing at UNLV for a year. They can explore Berkeley, or anywhere else, just not Levi's.

QB contracts are typically based on projections, he was also a viable MVP candidate last season....Carr I going to demand top 5 QB pay and that could grow if the Faiders drag their feet on this.

I hope they do drag their feet. Hopefully they wait until after Kirk Cousins gets his new contract - with us - so that the value for a top 5 paid QB goes even higher.

As much as I hate to say it, they have a top 5 QB in Derek Carr. I can think of two guys that are absolutely better - Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers - but after that, everyone else is debatable (not saying none of the other QBs are better than Carr, I'm saying a case can be made for Carr; I'm also not saying I wouldn't take any other QBs over Carr because I definitely would, but again, a case can be made). The raiders were a top regular season team while Carr was playing and they looked absolutely atrocious in both games that he missed. Don't get me wrong, they still weren't a Super Bowl caliber team with that pathetic defense, but Carr was clearly the most valuable player on a 12-4 team and without him the raiders are probably a 6-10 team. He has fantastic receiving options and a phenomenal offensive line, but you couldn't tell while the two backup QBs were playing.

and he could be the next Tony Romo/Andrew Luck... Great stats during the regular season, chokes in the playoffs.

Derek still needs to prove himself.

I don't blame the Raiders for overspending. That's just the situation they are in. And are fortunate to have a young QB show promise early in his career.

Carr gonna have a s**t load of money to buy more eyeliner
Khalil Mack probably gonna be the highest paid defensive player too. Raiders are gonna have to win the super bowl within the next few years cause I don't think they have drafted that well besides those two.
the raiders had tons of cap room so they can easily afford cooper and mack.
