If the Raiders don't pick Bey where do you think he is chosen? I don't think he goes in the first round, Harvin, Maclin, Britt, Nicks, were better prospects imo.

Mel Kiper had him rated behind Hakeem Nicks but in front of Kenny Britt.

The story on the Heyward-Bey selection went something like this: The Raiders couldn't find anyone to trade down with and weren't willing to part with future picks for a mid level pick. Al Davis wanted Heyward-Bey at any cost and was willing to select him with the seventh overall pick. Many of the Raiders scouts had Crabtree at a higher grade, but Davis refused to select him seventh overall without seeing a workout. Many had doubts about Heyward-Bey's ability to create separation within twenty yards.

I imagine he would have gone late in the first round, possibly into the second round.

Thanks Al. God bless you. Live long and continue doing to that franchise what you do best.

Long live AL

He is still alive, then, is he? Only I have not been sure for some time now. Doing a fine job, though. Maybe posthumously.
JaMarcus Bustell, called it from day one..

Garcia must be kicking himself right about now, he def. would have been a starter weeks ago. Too bad.

I think the Raiders make a big splash in the off-season with a new head coach, I'm guessing they target either Jon Gruden (doubtful) and Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh (more likely)

Although drafted in the 7th round, Matt Flynn is going to be the LSU QB with the better career in the NFL when compared to JaMarcus Russell.

if the money is right they will.. that's all it takes. Who would go to the Browns right now? Someone will, Parcells went to the awful Dolphins...everyone's got a price. Harbaugh was talked about going to the Raiders before this season began.. I could see it happening

how is he even close to Madden?

He had early success in his career, won a Super Bowl, and went into broadcasting shortly after. He just extended his contract to stay in broadcasting and is getting all the top notch college and pro games.

As far as I'm concerned, it makes perfect sense.

If Harbaugh leaves Stanford for the Raiders, I will be pissed.

Harbaugh to Oakland is a big possibilty if you ask me as long as he gets paid. I actually think Gruden is awful on Monday Night, I watched the Browns game last week and I heard some annoying big mouth talking... come to find out it was Gruden lol
