Even if they do this, it's still not remotely as bad as selecting DHB over Crabtree. I can just rewatch that clip all day.

Yeah, pretty much.
Ooo, what about Shank-a-kowski? Was a kicker in the first round worse than DHB?

if we're expecting to draft him at 17 and become a future pro-bowler at RG or RT, why can't oakland pick him at 8 if he's such a solid player?

Umm maybe because they can still get a possible all Pro Tackle, DT, LB, QB at that point. And the least important position on the entire team other than P,K, is Guard. who spends the 8th pick on a GUARD??????

Well you can argue that Janikowski is more productive than DHB, but, yeah, selecting a kicker in round one is insane. Still, I think the DHB pick is way funnier, and our niners benefited directly because of it. I love Cris Carter's take on it.

He's also an option at RT. You really don't know how everyone will pan out as a pro. He might be the best available tackle on the board as well.

Please explain to why you are defending the raiders and their sound football/business operations?

I wanted Iupati with our 17th pick. If he goes that early you can't really argue with it, and it will force down a top player to our first pick.
But you can't help wondering whether Al is playing back to the media. "Hey who's the least likely person for me to take with the 8th overall? Punter? No, I know, a guard."
Could happen, though. Al is convinced he knows best.

Im guessing they'll take Taylor mays with they're first round pick. Which will also drop a better player down a slot.
