For those of you that missed it, DB Jimmy Williams was released by the 49ers on May 18, 2009. Prior to his release, many expected him to compete for a backup safety job.
Well, it turns out Williams has apparently been suspended for a year. Don't expect to see him back in a 49ers uniform any time soon...

Like i said when they signed him once a knucklehead always a knucklehead. But folks just can't help themselves when there team signs somebody. Sad though I don't see him being able to make it back in the league. hope he saved whatever he made.

9ers prolly knew of the failed test that's why he was released before he put a foot on the field and days before he had that interview saying him and Sing were hanging out

Agreed. Teams are not allowed to disclose to the media when players fail drug tests. The 49ers simply made up an excuse for the media and moved on.

I know I guessed as to why JW was cut and I just thought logically that he didn't meet Singletary's requirements. I am sure this is what got him canned.
Now, I am sure that most are expecting Brooks to fail in the same way by sabotaging himself.
I hope not.
Addiction is a horrible thing! You just can't say no...
Hey, pass that over here...
