Simple enough. If the season could end in only 1 of those 2 options...which would you rather have and why? Personally, I'm torn. On one hand I want to see us return to the top but on the other hand I don't want to ruin our perfect 5-0.

Having the 1st overall pick means taking another step back......Going to the Superbowl is better 10 out of 10![/u]

Only the most defeatist person would rather have the first pick than go to the SB.
Having the first pick rarely means you turn your franchise around, and it means you were awful.
Losing in the SB means you're a half step away from a championship and that you should be a serious contender for a while.

Losing the SuperBowl these days means missing the playoffs the next year.
Anyway, this is a terrible question. I'd rather not lose a SuperBowl, but if it were between that and being the worst team in the NFL, we'd be 5-1 in SuperBowls if it were up to me.

If you earned the first pick in the draft, then you are a sorry, pathetic team that in the best case scenario is going to be down and out for the next couple years. Now if you lose the Super Bowl, then you've just got to dust yourself off and try just that much harder to go all the way next year. So, it seems like a no-brainer to me.

Lose the Super Bowl is a no brainer. I am optimistic but I have my doubts if we can get back, we won 5 under a free spending owner who loved his players like family,
and he also had no salary cap to restrict his spending. If the current suspect ownership could even get the team to the Super Bowl, that would surpass all my expectations, hell I just want a team that is competitive week in and out and wins more than it losses. The last time we had first pick we took Alex Smith, so far that hasn't worked out too well. If you are first pick, you are the worst team in football, I
do not want to be laughed at for wearing my 49er hat everywhere anymore, been there done that.

There is only one answer, lose the SB. I couldn't stand the thought of another 1st pick. That would mean we sucked really bad in 2009, a horrible thought...
Only a few more days until training camp. Hopefully there will be some interesting stuff going on that will serve as new topic material. We are scraping the bottom of the barrel these days. Hard to come up with any new/original topics.

I thought the same thing, but I figured I would be nice and just answer the original poster's question.

easy. You get nothing for going to the superbowl and losing. The first overall pick is the only option for me.

How about we win the Superbowl and the Panthers finish dead last.
I'd rather lose in the Superbowl, cause then you get respect and primetime games the next season with the commentators talking up your players and with that comes probowlers.
