if he's lost a step and can't compete shouldn't he be put down?

by put down do you mean picked up and slammed on the ground till he dies?

I like Jamie Dukes, am I the only one? I was bummed when his show was no longer on the air.

As for Vick, I thought his time in the can was too long and they made an example out of him. So I do not believe he should be suspended. He relied on natural raw speed
and athletic ability, so I don't think he will be hurt by the 2 years away. He stunk as a
passer, I doubt he got any worse. Is anybody willing to venture a guess where he winds up? I think he should be in Denver, I wouldn't bet on Orton doing anything there. I think it would be hell on the opponent's defense trying to chase him around in that thin air.

^^ Supposedly the Rams are big players for Vick's services.

Vick really knew how to use his tight end, i think it would be a great move for the 49ers to bring him in. #1 rush offense in the NFL.

I would give him a shot, I do not think our QB situation is that good. Throw him in when the opponents defense is gasping for air in the 4th quarter, and run the option a few times. I am sure he could be acquired cheap and if he gets killed,
so what, then he will know what those dogs felt like.
I know I'm probably in the minority on this, but I think that the suspension is chickens**t.
Id take a shot and put him in Huards spot. Keeps the level of competition up at QB and could also grab us a top QB. Granted his pct. was average but his team dominated the run game. He uses his TE alot and Davis is more explosive than Crumpler ever was. SF has WRs with good hands in Bruce,Morgan, Hill, Battle, and possibley n hopefully Crabtree. Plus his strengths were miscast in a WCO. He could flourish in a Turner offense of rush and deep passing.

As much as I dislike Vick, I totally agree

It's a good business decision. The last thing the league wants is the start of their season being turned in to the Vick return show. Bad press all around. They want it to be about Brady, Favre, etc. By doing it this way he returns as a footnote after the first quarter of the season. Makes perfect sense.
