Giants lock up Eli with 7-year, $106.9M deal

Eli Manning has agreed to terms on a new seven-year, $106.9 million contract and is expected to sign later in the day.
Eli becomes the eighth player to reach $100 million. The $106.9 million falls short of the NFL record, but his $15.27 million per year is the highest annual salary. While it's certainly debatable if Eli is worth the mega-deal, the Giants had little choice but to pay the going rate for franchise QBs. Eli was reportedly asking for $20 million per year, so the Giants did well to hold their ground.

cooooooool
Archie Manning was quoted as saying cha ching cha ching!!!
Eli wanted $20 mil a yr, Giants "held their ground" and only gave $15 mil...LOL!

Oh wait, we were willing to pay that much for Warner if he signed w/ us.

Never mind.

Good for Eli, he helped bring them a ring and stabilize that franchise despite his many critics.

My god, the man throws a football.
Get that money Eli, but they better get him some WR's to throw too. Plax made a average qb look great in that playoff run.
Eli's gonna look like crap this year once teams stack the box. Play-action's aren't going to work if you can't establish the run. That's all Eli's got.
He can get a whole new banjo with that $$$$.

Man, he can buy a lot of lollipops and remote controlled cars with that. Yippee!

they have been drafting WRs in early rounds for several seasons now. I would imagine one of them is going to turn out.

Good deal. The timing is right...Big Blue won't have to worry about QB for the decade that should be the goal of every franchise

Eh, I still wouldn't call him an elite quarterback. The dude isn't even top 5.

He's won a Super Bowl and led his team to the playoffs the past 4 years, he's not exactly crap either
