He's won a Super Bowl and led his team to the playoffs the past 4 years, he's not exactly crap either

right. He is a good QB and now their identity is set. Since they have a good QB locked up, they can focus all their attention on getting and or maintaining a high level of play from Defense and Running.

In any given NFL season there really is only less than 20 good QB's playing. The rest is either a QB on the decline, being developed or a cheap place holder.

So I say when you got a proven good one, with more years ahead of him then behind him.....don't cheap out. You don't need an elite QB to win ships....you just don't want to be saddled with one of these year in and year out...

btw the Niners have being rolling with the latter 2 for about 7 years now. I would kill for Eli Manning

I think the guy is a dud, but i wont go as far as to argue that point. You give Carson Palmer that kind of defense and running game and he'll make it to the playoffs too.

This guy is going to flop, you heard it from me first.

On a side note, its was great rooting for him against the Patriots.
Peyton Manning should be the highest paid, but he takes a pay cut year in and year out so his team can resign and/or sign free agents.

lol I can play the acoustic part of that song.
For the next 7 years , this guy is going to make roughly $40,000 a day.

He's never done that. He's restructered his deal but that doesnt include taking less money, it just means converting salary into bonus money.

For a moment I thought this was about Whiteside.... as in Eli Whiteside, C for the SF Giants.

If that was the don't you think the Bucs and Ravens would have kept Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer at least a couple of seasons longer?
