Mount Rushmore of NFL QBs
Kurt Warner was asked to name his Mount Rushmore of QBs in NFL history.
The panel consisted of Warner, Rich Eisen, and Michael Irvin …
so true to fashion, and following form, this was his list:
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Troy Aikman
Rodger Staubach
To each their own, but his reasons for omitting Joe Montana are SUSPECT 🤔
So, is this MF'er on the Tootski again, or did he ever quit ??

WTF? Why is Michael Irvin a HOFer???

Michael Irvin is a Hall of Famer because he was one of the best WRs of this era.
Stupid thread.

First and foremost, I hate Michael Irvin's guts, he is the Cowboy I hated the most.
A big part of that was the fact he was a big pain for the 49er defense to even slow down let alone stop. I did not like his ego or his off field activities. BUT, he deserves to be in the hall, he was one of 3 big reasons the Cowboys were the team of the 90's.
I can't understand how a 49er fan could question this guy being in the HOF, unless they didn't start watching football till the year 2000.
All very true! I couldnt stand the guy myself. However, its ridiculous to even think that Irvin should not be in the Hall.
One game I remember like it was yesterday was the 1995 NFC title game. The Niners went ahead 21-0 and had to hang on for dear life to win and finally get back to the SB after 2 years in a row of having lost to the Cowboys in the NFC title game.
All Irvin did in that game was catch 12 passes for 192 yards and 2 tds. Remember too that the Niners had Deion that year covering him for much of the game! The guy was a complete stud and in my book was the 2nd best WR during that time.
I hate Irvin the COWBOY!!! But I love his game and passion for his team!!! RESPECT

If you played for a certain team, your status and likelihood of going into the hall of fame increases. (look at stallworth and swann) Irvin was HOF worthy but he is waaaaaay over rated IMO. So was Emmitt and Aikman. But their o line was super legit and their defense was under appreciated.

This!
If there is a QB list without Johnny U & Joe Montana on it does it really make sense? These two revolutionized the position along with the likes of Otto Graham.

To be fair, I think he was posting that Irvin was first ballot and Chris Carter wasn't. And if that was his point, he is right. Carter should have been a first ballot HOF and Carter>Irvin.

And I would be willing to be fair if the thread title wasn't "WTF? Why is Michael Irvin a HOFer???"

Right. Plus one guy showed up in big games during the playoffs while Carter mostly was disappointing in the playoffs.

Agree, the NFL Network or whomever asked Warner to name his Mount Rushmore,
should have stated "in Modern NFL History", and then specified an era/era's.
That, or expand the number of players on the NFL' version of the monument
🤔

As a guy who HATED the 90s Cowboys, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt Michael Irvin belongs in the Hall of Fame. I hated that whole team lol. I hated them so much, I knew everybody who played for them. I was obsessed with seeing them lose. My Sundays were miserable when they won. Real talk, if not for Jerry Jones stupidity, the Cowboys might have won 5 or 6 Superbowls with Jimmy Johnson still there lol. He was called the "Playmaker" for a reason lol. Aikman, Emmitt, Irvin, Moose, Alvin Harper, Novacek, Nate Newton, Mark Tuinei, Charles Haley, Darren Woodson, I remember them all. I remember when they got down, Playmaker would get them hyped to go. Oh don't be fooled, this man is a Hall of Famer lol.

That team was super fun to watch. I border line hated them but they were must see tv. Kinda like the Lakers in the early 2000's or Seahawks during their dynasty 3 year window.

Loved what the Niners did to them in the 1994 NFCC game. Everyone thought the Niners would match up Deion against Irvin….instead he shut down Harper and one half of the field and allowed the entire secondary to shadow Irvin all game long. Look how many Niners are in the vicinity on that pick 6
