So here it is in a nutshell:
Favre had several bad seasons in a row and then pulls out a pretty good final season for them, except of course, he chokes in the cold at Chicago and then at home in the playoffs against the Falcons - those were a couple of cold, cold games and the old man just wasn't up for it anymore.
The Pack needs to decide one way or the other about Aaron Rodgers or he's going to be lost to some other team. There's a lot more upside to Rodgers, so basically Favre is allowed to go to the Jets via a trade with a poison pill clause that prevents him from being traded from the Jets to an NFC North opponent which is where he wants to play so he can show up the Pack. Favre is so hurt butt about this that he wants revenge against Ted Thompson (GM of the Pack). It all starts out pretty good for Favre and the Jets, but then old age catches up to him after about game ten and he's just gasping for breath and looks every bit his age down the stretch. The Jets ultimately nose dive down the stretch and cut him after the end of the season, but not before first firing their head coach for signing the old drama queen.
Favre has a bad shoulder, he should get it fixed immediately after the season, but he doesn't - hey, he's retired. But then that old hurt butt thing comes back again and he wants back at Ted Thomson. So he finally has his shoulder operated on a couple months ago and after lots of drama and enough curing to pass a physical, he has signed up with the Vikings so he can show Ted Thompson and those ungrateful people back in Green Bay who should all still be worshipping him. But it's not going to work out for him. He's going to look bad this year for the Vikes (he's never played well in domes), and I think that age thing is really going to get him this year. And on the flip side, I think Rodgers is probably going to Honolulu this February. He just missed Honolulu last year, he now has a year of experience under his belt, he has a great group of WRs, and his offensive line seems to have improved. It all adds up to Rodgers looking good, Thompson being vindicated, and Favre going out in an embarrassing cloud of artificial turf dust.
