we need him so i would have little problem with paying him haynsworth type money, even tom brady money( but NOT manning money) especially if we have injury protection and other litttle protection clauses(similar to nate's contract)
but a team like the cowboys may be tempted to let him walk, that is a lot of money and they may think it is bettter spet elsewhere.

If they can't get something done, he will simply just be franchised. Same goes for Vince Wilfork who's contract is also up and the end of the year. I think Shawn Merriman and Julius Peppers will be the big name's of free agency next year.

i admit, i would love to see one of these franchise players hold out the whole year, or just wait till week 6 or 10(?) and hen sign it. or maybe sign it then milk an injury.
a player like ware, who would be designated as an OLB, and is looking for and will get a haynesworth type deal is going to lose A LOT of money.
