i just hope cowher or shannahan doesn't end up in Dallas if wade get's the can.

I don't think Cowher would want to work for Jerr-uh Jones. He would likely want a real GM or to have more control. Though I'm sure it would be tough to turn down a team with a lot of talent and potential.

He lives in NC and there have been rumors swirling since he left the Steelers that he wanted the Carolina job. Fox may be gone after this year and there is definitely some talent to work with there, especially for a coach who loves to run the ball down the oppositions throat.

Old news, everyone and their mother knows he wants the Carolina job . I'm sure if they decide to get rid of John Fox, that Jerry Richardson would have no problem dumping Marty Hurney to get Cowher if he wants full control.
I saw this on Twitter, and decided to see what the WZ thinks.

I have my own thoughts as to who will get the axe, be it sooner or after the season has ended.

A few posters in the thread feel that a coach won't/shouldn't get fired after one season … either they're new to
following the NFL, or don't understand how owners can overreact, or how GMs manoeuvre to save their jobs.

Right or Wrong, here's a list of "One-and-Done" Coaches (since the AFL & NFL Merger), dispelling that mindset:

One-and-Done Coaches Since 1970

1970-1980
- Bill Austin, Washington (1970)
- Harvey Johnson, Buffalo Bills (1971)
- Ed Hughes, Houston Oilers (1971)

- Monte Clark, San Francisco 49ers (1976)
- Lou Holtz, New York Jets (1976)
- Ken Meyer, San Francisco 49ers (1977)
- Peter McCulley, San Francisco 49ers (1978)

1981-1990
- Les Steckel, Minnesota Vikings (1984)
- Rod Rust, New England Patriots (1990)
- Richie Petitbon, Washington (1993)
- Pete Carroll, New York Jets (1994)

1991-2000
- Joe Bugel, Las Vegas Raiders (1997)
- Ray Rhodes, Green Bay Packers (1999)
- Al Groh, New York Jets (2000)

2001-2010
- Marty Schottenheimer, Washington (2001)
- Art Shell, Las Vegas Raiders (2006)
- Cam Cameron, Miami Dolphins (2007)
- Bobby Petrino, Atlanta Falcons (2007)
- Jim Mora Jr., Seattle Seahawks (2009)

2011-2020
- Hue Jackson, Las Vegas Raiders (2011)
- Mike Mularkey, Jacksonville Jaguars (2012)
- Rob Chudzinski, Cleveland Browns (2013)

I don't know about McCarthy. His idiot owner doesn't think the same way everyone else thinks. He has kept on underperforming coaches for ages in the past. There is a fair few of the others on that list who deserve to go, but I am not sure that I see all that many prospects champing at the bit behind them. Pederson certainly my bet to be the first to go.

The coaches listed at #'s 1, 2, & 3 are probably gone. I don't think Eberflus
is the type of coach need to get the full potential from their young QB!

I was surprised to not see the Raiders HC make the list, as he's been mentioned
in several threads I've read. Then again, what's one to do when you don't have a QB.

IMO, Daboll has been fired in the minds of the Mara Family, but they'll wait to seasons'
end before that happens. Todd Bowles stands a chance of being let go - OK coach,
but a much better DC.

First year coaches Canales & Mayo should be safe, as they inherited Badd Situations.
I see Stefanski as a 50/50 coin toss … however, he wasn't the one who signed-off on that
outrageous guaranteed contract to Watson.

I don't see Miami getting rid of of McDaniel. Lastly, the only thing presently saving Sirianni,
is the Eagles record. That's my opinion based on my dislike for him as a person, and how he
lost the team last season. He's more cheerleader than HC …
