I would love to have the Merriman that was dominate yes but he is just not worth it now. The trade would probably come along with a long term contract and what if he doesn't come back right from the injury? what if the steriods thing is also an issue? we are good at LB anyway, yes we lack the "dominate" pass rusher but we have alot of very good players in the front 7. Trade for an OL or 2 or maybe a S but not a LB

I would do it, Trade Marquez Harris and a 4th for him and if he plays every snap this year and preforms well make that 4th turn into a 3rd.

A lot of people here are underrated Shawne Merriman. 
Just watch...an intelligent general manager will buy low on Merriman, either by trading for him or signing him, and will look brilliant once Merriman recovers 100% from his serious injuries.
Look up: Julian Peterson.

I agree with you on this. Why would you wait until the guys is helathy and returns to form to trade him when you can get him at a low price, and then reap the benfits when he fully recovers.

I agree with that. Give them Soapoaga since they need a NT & a draft pick.

well lets see...in 2006 he got caught using steroids. In 2007 off of steroids he still had 12.5 sacks
Got hurt in 2008, hasn't really shown up yet this year, but then again neither has peppers or demarcus ware.
Sorry but I think this would be a great trade as pass rushers like merriman dont usually become available. worth at least a 2nd rnd pick.
