Did anyone else see Peter King on Football Night in America say that it is his opinion that the Browns are looking for solid leadership from the top down. He said very soon they may try to make a run at Mike Holmgrin.
Because it was his opinion he made it clear that there are no facts to back this up. But he has the feeling it could happen. That would set the webzone into a frenzy.

Browns may go after Holmgrin as GM

all I need to say is...why? He was a poor GM in Seattle for 4 years and he had those duties stripped away from him. As a coach sure, but GM? Anything could be better than what they have been all I need to know is how did Butch Davis get the Browns to the playoffs in 2002?

Well now his sole focus would be GM and he would have to work with his HC towards finding the right personnel. He would also be able to choose his scouts and again work closely with those guys in assuring the right picks get made. So there is a chance for success, I also think Bernie Kosar will remain with the Browns beyond this season possibly in a Bill Parcells type role as he is currently a consultant with the team and is being somewhat mentored by Ernie Accorsi.
As to why ? Because of the media buzz it would create and the positive attention that would be shed on the Browns. The media and fans alike questioned the hiring of Mangini, whom Browns owner Randy Lerner really liked. Holmgren would present the team with someone the fans can believe in and get behind at least in the short term. I also believe he will hire an experienced HC, my guess Chucky with Jim Zorn getting the QB coach gig. They will give season ticket holders and fans a reason to believe the team is going in the right direction.

Forget GM. The Browns could use him as a head coach.
Brady Quinn would be great under his tutelage.

At least were not the browns, most of the members of the zone would go into cardiac arrest, then have their heart restarted only to commit suicide

Everyone in the world is supposedly going after Holmgren...
Remember when everyone said he was gonna come here to SF, because his family is here?

He is beyond awful at this point. There is no question that Cleveland needs to start over and draft either Jake Locker, Jimmy Clausen, or Sam Bradford in this years draft. I do not believe I have ever seen a team in the NFL that has such poor QB play and such limited weapons on offense.
The other option would be to draft Dez Bryant and try to get a QB via trade or free agency. The only certainty.. Quinn will not be the QB next year.

This line made me chuckle.
You don't recall seeing the 2004 niners offense?

Glad you got a chuckle. However, stats dont lie:
Pts per game: 04 Niners 16.2 09 Browns 8.7
Yrds Per game 04 Niners 286 09 Browns 214
Rankings:
Niners 26th in yrds and 30th in scoring
Browns 32nd and dead last in both categories.
Once again.. the Browns have hit the bottom in all time offense futility
