I think he was talking about Anthony Davis. IMO he was not a all pro but in the verge of becoming a pro bowler.

I was....,its iupati that made the all pro from the 2010 class.
I hated Davis's attitude but our line was noticeably better with him. His retirement in June was just a killer both in timing and loss of talent.

Yep. He and Aldon were the two biggest losses. Justin Smith and Willis, as far as leadership, but for timing and talent, those two killed us. I think we would be in the thick of things right now if we could block, or rush the passer.

As disappointing as he's been recently, Vernon's given us some of the best memories over the recent years. Best of luck in Denver.

A totally crap deal for the 9ers.
Again thanks to Krapnpick, he killed Vernon's career just like he killed Harbaugh's career with the 9ers from a 13 TD TE to now being traded.
Screw it, I am happy for Vernon for not having to play for such a sh*te team and a completely hopeless retard of a QB.
Best of luck, you will be missed, Vernon!! Go and lift that Lombardi!!
Let's go Bronocs!!

Clearly the point is a 6th round pick for a player they'd lose for nothing at seasons end.
Wrong its actually about a few more bucks saved for Jed's mamas purse

He relied purely on his speed and athletisizm. Now that hes older, and those things are diminishing, hes finished.
The fact that we got anything is a plus.
Overall he had a nice Niner career, but hes been gone for 2 years now. Hes just not on the roster anymore this time.
Let's get real folks. He did NOT have a "nice career".
He had a "best TE in San Francisco 49ers history career".
He needed to go. But let's not downplay his amazingness.
Vernon Davis will be placed in the Niners HOF.
He had 2 elite seasons.
Brent Jones is still the best TE in 49ers history.

Yup! I've always been a Davis fan but I also understand the downfall he's taken because of the inept QB play we've had for years here. Kaep was supposed to be the guy that brought the air game back to the bay area and we all know how thats turned out. Until Kaep shapes up or is shipped out, pass catchers are doomed here. Poor Torrey.

I'd like to know what happened after the opener last year, because in kaps first full season as a starter and the '14 opener in Dallas VD has 15 tds in 17 games. Personally I think he got hurt in the Levi opener and never recovered last year.
