Comp picks are determined based on how many FA's you sign and how many you let go, so the likelihood that the 49ers would have gotten jack squat for VD if he walked is very high if they go out and sign a couple of mid-priced to high-priced free agents in the offseason. I wouldn't count on this team getting any further comp picks over the next year or two. They've got a ton of money to spend and they have holes to fill.

that's why I say Baalke is a Moran... not having any plan on signing Vernon after the season, we shoulda traded him during the draft because he had more value then..
nstead, he rolled the dice that by the 9th game, Vernon would be leading the team with 10 TDs, if not all TEs and then would shop him around still..
one thing he forgot, is that we have KAEPERDINK as our QB!!! how the heck can Vernon have 10 TDs with him at QB??

LOL 2013 vern had 13 td's with kap at qb. They kept him cause they thought they could win, the goal is to win.
