Another 1st round (7th overall) pick that NOWIN let go... that's having a monster year...

I don't even remember what the story was behind letting him go... was it a money thing?

It was money, but then again, I wouldn't necessarily call 50 total tackles and 9 sacks a "Monster Year".

Maybe not "Monster Year" but still a pretty damn good year. There are only three other linemen with more tackles and they have 57, 53, and 51. But they only have 1, 1.5 and 3 sacks respectively. He's #8 in sacks.
He didn't "fit" in the 3-4. He looked totally lost as an OLB and was labeled strictly as a 4-3 DE. That was the main reason he was let go.

That whole D Line is having a great year. Brian Orakpo has 7 sacks, Carter with 9 and ofcourse they have Haynesworth, which is probably for this great production.
Redskins have the #1 Ranked Pass Defense in the league, and their passrush is the reason why.
...and thats why our pass defense sucks..

I meant that Julian Peterson didn't fit in the 3-4 defense as an OLB.
Psshh

Sure he looks good now, but didn't do sh*t before this year.

He was athletic as hell, but never blew up.........and still hasn't.

Don't even grab a bagel.
I believe the reason they said they didn't have the money was because of being so much money over the cap.
Thats because he has haynesworth in the middle taking on double teams all game. it really helps open things up on the outside.
gotta love that 20-20 hindsight.. and the good thing is on the internet no one is willing to go back and look and see if that's how you really felt when they were first leaving.

He was to small to play DE in the 3-4 and was not able to adjust to OLB.
Orakpo had 4 sacks yesterday
