Andre Carter has 9 sacks on the season...

This roided out dummy had a fumble and completely missed the ball all by himself.

Idiot could have had a six easy.

Who cares he has 11 sacks on the season.
He basically gets the sacks that VandenBosh aint getting this year due to Haynesworth being on the line. The niners let him go due to him not being a 3-4 OLB and Washington willing to pay him to be a 4-3 end.

Always liked Andre Carter.

When we had Carter/Peterson together

My favorite Madden def. I think I had Ray Lewis as MLB too.
Wonder how man more sack Ahmed Brooks would have , if he started the season as our 3rd down pass rusher ?

Man he's so quick coming off the line.

Thats because he has haynesworth in the middle taking on double teams all game. it really helps open things up on the outside.

Does that make THAT much of a difference? I mean, most of the time, a Tackle is helped on the DE from chip blocks by the backs or help from the TE. The Guards usually focus on the Defensive Tackles most of the time as the DE's usually go on the outside.

We all thought this when it came to Manny Lawson and now Franklin is playing at a high level and it didn't do squat for Manny. It's usually a T/TE or T/RB combination on an End as they aren't any more than 260lbs anyways.

Yes it does make that much of a difference. If Albert is getting double teamed then he has a G and C on him. Then the other DT has the other G. That leaves Orakpo and Carter with 1 on 1 matchups out side.

Yeah but you still have a 300+ pound Tackle AND a RB or TE helping on the 260 pound DE. I wouldn't exactly call that a huge advantage. Carter has had good sack seasons and we wanted to keep him also, which means he was already fairly good or at least better than our Manny Lawson, which makes him better than a 7 sack a season guy. So he gets 4 more or so sacks. It doesn't make him THAT much better.

Well he had 4 sacks last year so you tell me if Hayensworth has helped. They went from 2 DEs with less than 10 sacks combined. To 2 DEs with double digit sacks.

I think a huge factor is haynesworths pressure down the middle which doesn't allow qb's to step into the pocket, when a DE finally gets pressure.

Look at our pass rush the ends are really fast off the ball but the opposing qb just steps into the pocket and throws the ball.

A healthy Carter was already better hhsn those numbers. It's difficult for a RB to help a 300 lb man against a 160 lb man.
