According to Kiper, Gabbert’s fall has occurred after NFL teams did “more film work” on the underclassman’s junior year. It’s true that Gabbert did not dominate his competition in 2010, throwing for 16 touchdowns compared to nine picks and averaging an unimpressive 6.71 yards per attempt

according to mel kiper, clausen is gonna be a great qb

this isnt anyalsis on a qb this is about a stock rising or falling

Gabbert was very average in college, do you really think hes gonna dominate the NFL. And no people dont bring up Brady because that was an exception.

He may very well be, it's too early to write his career off due to a poor rookie year.

No, he was above average but not spectacular but that doesn't mean a damn thing. You don't have to be spectacular in college to be spectacular in the pro's. And yes we can bring up Brady because there are exceptions and there is always a chance Gabbert is one of them, a very small chance but it is still there. It's not like Brady is the only exception in the history of the league.

There is NO chance that any of that could be a smokescreen. None. Zero. Zilch. Thank god everything we read in the final weeks and days leading up to the draft is all truth.

C'Mon Man.
The only media dude that is overly impressed by Gabbert is Mayock and I usually respect his opinion but I do think he is overrating Gabbert.

time will tell, I dont think he drop below #12

I'm having trouble figuring him out myself. I've watched Gabbert a lot, and would be torn if the Niner's took him at 7. On one hand, you have all the arguments above about TD/int and YPA.

On the other hand, you have the fact that his go to receiver was Moe, a 6 foot tall converted QB. He lost his starting RB before the season started, and didn't run the ball well. Despite this, he beat then number #1 Oklahoma and won 10 games. He has a giant arm and quick release.

Hard to say.

No, Gruden points and plays to the positives in his analysis. He is not going to point out all the negatives and pick them apart, though he does touch on some things they need to work on/correct. However he mainly tries to accentuate the good, after all he is doing this for television. But at the very end of his segment with Gabbert he was very excited with what he had just seen Gabbert do on the field, moreso than with the other prospects from this year it seemed.

A lot of what comes from their mouths is taken from talking to scouts, coaches, execs etc.

Mayock has said there is no QB worth a top pick and no QB he would say a team must draft and he said he always has one QB he really pushes, but not this year. He seems pretty down on this years QB class overall. The QB he seems to like the most is Dalton who he saw at the Manning QB camp and came away impressed but said he still has a lot of work to do to be a successful starter.
