I think we will if he drops to #7. IMO we would be foolish not to. We don't have a franchise QB. He is a guy with all the tools and physical ability. So why would you pass?
you think he has the tools to be a FRANCHISE qb? or are you saying we should take him just because he is better than the crap we have at QB (David Carr)?
He has...
~ The arm.
~ The legs.
~ The athleticism.
~ The quick release.
~ The accuracy.
~ The size.
~ The strength.
He comes from a system where he will need time to adjust. Harbaugh should be able to school him better than anybody. He's not NoWin or SingleBrainCell. Under Harbaugh's wing Gabbert could become a star. He's better physically than the guys we are talking about later (Ponder, Dalton).
couldnt you say the same thing about Cam?
Cam does not have...
~ The arm.
~ Quick release.
~ Accuracy.
He has the others...
now I'm just going off of stats, but in 2010, Cam had a better comp % than Blaine. 66.1 - 63.4. Surely cam has to be somewhat accurate even if his passes were just short throws. But, then that cant be the case because stats show that Gabbert's average pass completed was 6.1 to Cam's 10.1 YPA.
Also with the arm, how does a QB complete 30 TD's in a college season if he doesnt have an arm?
now, I'm honestly asking this, because I didnt pay attention to the college info that came in. trying to get it all in at the last second.
Cam made short throws and had far superior talent around him at Auburn. Gabbert had average talent. Locker for example had horrific talent around him. He's under estimated BTW.
Cam had good talent and had great legs to run. Not a pro QB. His accuracy is very underwhelming. At the combine he was spraying the ball all over the place.
