Adam Schefter says Gabbert not going to SF
He was asked what team is a good fit and he said Tennessee. McShay read into as us not being interested and put it as such but Schefter never uttered those words.
Schefter said he doesn't see Gabbert going before Tennessee picks at #8. Mcshay then said it's unfair that he gets to break news while in New York. Sounds pretty convincing, take it for what it's worth.
That's his opinion though, he never said he heard we won't take him. It's possible Harbaugh/Baalke have sold many on the belief that they won't. With the inflation in demand for QB's why would they want anyone knowing they'd take him if he is on the board at 7...they aren't trying to get QB needy teams to trade up.
Would it not be wiser to make teams believe you are interested if your truly not in hopes someone trades up and causes another prospect to fall?
