Only the bolded lol. I had us taking Quinn as well. I felt pass rusher was our top need and thought Quinn could really be special. I'm still glad we took Aldon, but its nice to know I was right about Robert Quinn.

On the subject of this thread...wow. It's amazing what happened to that team. They looked so good in 2007. Where did it all go wrong? David Garrard may not have been the franchise QB, but he certainly wasn't the problem either. They should've just kept building on what they had. They would at least be a team that would've been playoff team every now and again. Made a trade for some dynamic receivers or just drafted them (moving up aggressively in the draft to ensure they had a shot at one).

It wasn't just jrg. Pretty much all the experts liked Gabbert. I didn't understand it. Even in college he looked shaky and had major issues throwing past 10 yards. Pure product of the system. Chase Daniel was a better player than him, and went undrafted. Props to Joe Theismann. He was the only "analyst" I can remember that said this kid would not be good.

I never understood the Gabbert love affair either. Kid was never even all that good at Mizzou, the signs were there and it's not the least bit surprising to me that he's yet to transition into a serviceable NFL QB and has become a colossal bust. These same analysts probably slammed the Aldon pick for being a "reach" . In hindsight, Baalke looks like a friggin genius for the 2011 draft. To find an elite pass rusher and a potential elite franchise QB in CK7 is a job well f*cking done.

Yup. We came out like bandits in the 2011 draft. Aldon, Kap, Culliver, Hunter, Miller.....WOW.

I was very happy when we passed on Gabbert. Was very concerned he would be the pick because Harbaugh tried to recruit him at Stanford. Good thing he and Baalke knew better.

Not embarrassed at all. You dudes haven't been 100% correct on your predictions either.

Gabbert performed well in college and a LOT of people had him coming to the 49ers.

Glad we went with Aldon..grabbed the other star from Mizzou.

Gabbert has struggled so far in his career, but he is still my dude.

You eat crow well

I'd guarantee Gabbert would be a different QB if he started out with Harbaugh/Niners... I can't imagine him sucking this bad/at all (if he started with us from day one).

I'm glad we picked Aldon instead, but in Gabbert's defense, he was put in as bad a situation as Alex' (early days with us) or maybe even worse with the Jags...
who is the loser that bumped this thread?
