Serious question
I saw that cam newton averaged one of the least passing yards in the whole second half of the season ( I think it was like 3 rd worst but can't confirm ) do you guys think it was the defenses kind of caught on and could lead to sophmore slump ?
Imo I don't think it will as he will step it up from rookie season but what do u guys think

This...plus I believe a lot of top WRs will want to go play with Cam - so I fully expect Panthers to add some quality Wrs if Cam continues to develop. Cam has won at every level...so I expect him to continue to get better. I like Dalton, and he has potential to be a good QB as well - but I doubt WRs will be clamoring to play with Dalton.

My point about surrounding a QB with talent is that the Bengals offense has a much brighter future then then Carolina's.
Who is the young talent they are pairing with Cam Newton??? Steve Smith is 33 and is Cam's only weapon. DeAngelo is 29 and they just handed him a bloated contract when he is about to hit the RB age wall. They brought in Louis Murphy who is a toss away from the Raiders. Joe Adams could be a future weapon, but from what I've seen of Joe Adams in college is that his hands will need a lot of work. Jonathan Stewart is on the last year of his contract and at 25 years old, he would be smart to leave and get paid.
I don't agree Dalton has better skill set to win...but yes, he has a better team and may win more games early on. Panthers will get their playmakers. It takes time. As the video I posted clearly showed - Cam made a lot of accurate throws...and though Steve Smith is a great WR and made some terrific catches - Cam was more than amazing last season. He is just a rookie...he works extremely hard and will only get better in years to come.

I'm glad you have insight into who NFL WR's want to play for

Nope, but I do have access to ESPN where this has been reiterated many times by insiders when talking about the Panthers. Also, WRs want to play with a gunslinger who can single handedly win games. This is nothing new...

Somewhere in this thread I claimed that Cam Newton will be a black Tim Tebow
Cam, I'm sorry.

Free Agency... The Draft... The Panthers will surround Cam with talent once the time is right.
Cam >>> Dalton
Dual threat QBs are lethal and Cam is leading the new wave.

I dont see why NFL players wouldn't want to play for Cam, especially after the season Steve Smith had with him compared to the season before.

Of course Steve Smith made some amazing plays - he is a super talented WR. More often than not Cam put the ball on the money and made some amazing throws and made Steve Smith look good too. It goes hand in hand...
Most of the those balls are on the money. Often Steve Smith is able to catch the ball in stride over the middle and make moves to get more yards. There are some throws on the back shoulder, which few WRs can make - but a QB must know what kind of catches his WRs can make and throwing behind the WR is now a weapon top QBs use when they have WRs with sure hands. Of course, Steve Smith made a few catches that were flat out amazing...but Cam threw far more amazing passes that lead Steve Smith perfectly to the ball.

Andy Dalton QB rating this year: 105 (#4 in the league)
Cam Newton QB rating this year: 78.3 (#23 in the league)
Edit: Also @YoungAce for saying Cam is better than Dalton
And as far as which fell into the better position:
players on Cincy before Dalton came: WR Brandon Tate, TE Jermaine Gresham, LT Whitworth, C Faine, RT Smith
players on Carolina before Newton came: WR Steve Smith, WR LaFell, TE Greg Olson, LT Gross, C Kalil, RG Hangartner, RB DeAngelo Williams, RB Jonathan Stewart
Pro-Bowlers in bold

Carolina down went way to far with the option s**t. They stunting his growth as a passing qb. And Cam needs to stop crying like Smith sad and play ball. He throws one int and doens't appear to just forget about and move on to the next play. Then he makes another mistake and just loses himself. That's maturity. Right now Cincy clearly has more talent on offense. The panther o line has regressed and Deangelo Williams isn't too much better then Ben Jarvis. Cam needs to step it up either way. And you can't take away from Dalton he's making the throws and plays that need to be made.

I agree. My point was Cam Newton needs to be groomed and trained to be an efficient pocket passer. But instead they are trying to turn him into an option-running gun slinger which IMO is an awful move.
Additionally, their GM is screwing up the team with what he is spending on the backfield. They just locked up $90 million on their RBs for the next 4 years, thats about a 20 million dollar cap hit just on their RBs each year for the next 4 years Thats about 1/6 of their entire cap space.....And some people think all these top NFL WRs are going to beg to take a pay cut to play with Cam, lol.
And this is on top of Carolina already having salary cap issues:
"Carolina already was looking at salary-cap trouble in future seasons. With Stewart's deal, the Panthers now have $134 million committed toward the 2013 salary cap. "
http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/post/_/id/37769/breaking-down-jonathan-stewarts-deal
But nooooo, some people think Cam is a magical wizard who is going to dominate the NFL regardless.
A comparison is the 49ers have about a $10million dollar cap hit for their RB position.
Edit: Another line from the same article:
"Heck, the Panthers already have $110 million committed toward the 2015 cap and that's with only 18 players already under contract for that year."
The cap this year is about $120 million....

He just doesn't look comfortable in a 3 step drop.

"I cant speak for the offense I can only speak for myself"
Way to take ownership Scam
