The big increase will be for 2021 and later once the new TV deals are signed.

Are rosters increased from 53??

No. Per Peter King:

Practice squads will increase from 10 to 12 players in 2020, and to 14 in 2021. Starting this year, 48 players can be active on gameday; teams will be able to borrow from the practice squad weekly to be part of the 53-man active roster.

So while the roster hasn't increased, the roster and use of practice squad has, and the inactive players on gameday went down. And it sounds like you can now return players directly to the PS after an isolated week on 53-man roster rather than cutting them and putting them through waivers (though like always a PS player is free to sign with any team).

2019: 46/53 active, 10 PS
2020: 48/53 active, 12 PS
2021-2030: 48/53 active, 14 PS

A little more clarity on how the increased active roster players and practice squad callups work now:

"The game-day active roster will increase from 46 to 48 players (although one of the extra players must be an offensive lineman, which will give teams more flexibility to have three extra linemen). Practice squads will expand from 10 players to 12 in 2020 and 2021 and to 14 starting in 2022...

Two practice-squad players per week may be elevated to the team's roster, meaning game-week roster sizes could effectively increase from 53 to 55. And a player elevated from the practice squad to the 55-man roster could be sent back to the practice squad two times without having to clear waivers.

The changes will give teams more flexibility in managing their rosters and, if utilized fully, will offer more opportunity for practice-squad players to earn active-roster salaries."

So, effectively, this means the game day roster is 48 active out of 53-55 players, depending on if any practice squad players have been called up to fill one of the potential extra two spots on the roster.

They officially voted for 14 playoff teams. Ugh, the NFL sucks. It's all about money to them.

I wonder if they did anything else about setting up the Playoffs. This nonsense of Division winners with crappy records get the Home Field Advantage over "Wild Card" Teams with far better records should be a thing of the past. I can just see them keeping the existing BS.

This seems like a wonderful opportunity to make it so that the Team with the better record in each Playoff game gets the Home Field.

It would be nice, but doubtful.

Totally agree
LOL at a 17 game season, it is unbelievably stupid.

So is having half the teams in the League make the playoffs but at least I can see the reasoning behind it.
