Lol @ choosing baalke over Harbaugh.. Dumbest mistake in 49er franchise history.. I'm still waiting for baalke to lead us..
How many times have we pressed the reset button since Harbaugh

Don't let hate get in the way of facts.

Facts:

1-6 record against Top 10 opponents

1-5 vs Ohio State and Michigan State.

No higher finish than 3rd place in the East of the Big 10.

He's getting Urban Meyer money but so far his results have been Brady Hoke.

James Franklin took over a Penn State program that had been decimated in the wake of the sex abuse scandal and managed to rebuild it into a top flight program pretty quickly. No excuses needed for him.

I think we agree 100% that if Michigan falls short this season, talent won't be the reason why. Its up to Harbaugh to step it up the way guys like Meyer and Franklin have done.

If he doesn't, he's all out of excuses.

I'll agree if he doesn't beat them this year there won't be any excuses but It takes a coach 3-4 year to get their players. He has done that.

In regards to James Franklin, what has he accomplished that Harbaugh hasn't??

Beat Ohio State?

I'll give you that... but Harbaugh has built a Championship team this year, in year 4 and has the opportunity to accomplish both.

This defense got faster.

Its only a championship team if it actually competes for a championship. That remains to be seen.

True, James Franklin also got hired in 2014, This year will tell alot since you are comparing the two.

We know that defense will keep Michigan in every game.

With Shea Patterson and those weapons.. Look out, A mature qb is all we needed to help that top notch defense who is ready to win now.

Penn State and UM are pretty even. 1 victory over OSU means little. So little that OSU was still selected to the playoffs over them.
Phil Steele breaks down 2018 Michigan football: "underrated", "can contend for a national title"
Maize n Brew chatted with ESPN's Phil Steele, one of the most accurate college football analysts
By Trevor Woods on June 14, 2018 12:00 pm

MnB: You called Michigan overrated heading into the 2017 season, what would you say they are heading into the 2018 season?

Steele: "I think they're underrated this year because I don't think they'll be in the AP top ten, they'll be close but not in the AP top ten at the start of the year. When you look at this team they go from having five returning starters to seventeen, they go from number 127 on my experience chart all the way up to number 37. Clearly one of the best defenses in the country, I've got them listed as the best secondary. Number six defensive line, number twelve linebackers, overall the number three defense in the entire country. Offensively, the offensive line should be better, I like the running backs and receivers, and now they finally have a quarterback in Shea Patterson. The schedule is difficult, I think that's one of the reasons they'll be underrated, and another reasons they'll be underrated is that they lost five games last year. But this is a team that hasn't been far away in a lot of their losses in the Harbaugh era and they're actually my number 4 surprise team in the country this year which is a non top ten team I think can contend for a national title"

People forget 11 players from Michigan went to the nfl in 2016. Only 5 starters returning in 2017.
In 2018, 17 starters are returning. Loaded...

"Michigan Football might have best corner duo in the country"
https://www.google.com/amp/s/gbmwolverine.com/2018/06/08/michigan-football-might-best-corner-duo-country/amp/

"The cornerback position was a question mark for Michigan football heading into 2017. But as we head towards the 2018 campaign, it's not a worry at all.

There are a lot of really good pieces on the Michigan football defense, but two of the best are corners David Long and Lavert Hill."

Best secondary in the country.. Hey NC, Phoenix look 👀 at those ridiculous passer ratings.. We have two islands 🌴 🌴 if those stats continue.. They are going to need a no fly zone sign if they keep this up.

Two shut down corners...
https://www.michigansportszone.com/2018/06/11/michigan-football-secondary/

I expect their own threads, a full report by September and this information passed up the ladder asap.. NC, Phoenix...
The roster and defense is loaded in year 4. I believe niners need help at the cb position, dump Jimmy ward already..

Roster loaded, top defense, great CBs, outstanding QB. Michigan gonna be playing for the national title it sounds like.

I think they'll definitely be better, but they have to play in Columbus this year. Unlikely they win that, which will likely keep them out of the playoff

Except Franklin took over way worse of a situation than Harbaugh. As well as a more depleted team of depth. I think Franklin has done a much better job than Harbaugh.
