No system, No Qb can manage anything unless that gets fixed. It all starts up front. Imho

Runyan Jr is a liability at left tackle like someone mentioned. Our tackles played like trash.

This is Harbaugh's handpicked OL though. If they don't perform, that falls on the guy recruiting and coaching them.

Season is all on him. Not a good start, unfortunately

Thus the line must get fixed. They are very young. Mason Cole was our best offensive lineman.

No excuses, it's what it is, he has to get it fixed. This was Michigan's concern. They have to gel and mature by next month, when we start playing the big ten games.

I understand very well it was his picks but they are all young, what I mean is he has to find the right combination on that line.

If yo have an o line that struggles to pass block you need to go to a quicker strike passing game. Don't just try and do play action shots. Have to adjust to the talent you have.

Having a bunch of young players didn't effect the defense last year.

So once again, the defense is the saving grace of Jim's team, and he doesn't coach that side of the ball.

Well, they didn't save them in week 1.

If the O Line coach is Pep Hamilton (and I checked Wikipedia as to who Harbaugh's OLine coach is) then I don't know if Pep has the experience to coach up the O LIne to perform better.

Which once again falls on Harbaugh who hired him although Ed Warinner is the new OL coach.

Being the lord of your own fiefdom means you get all the credit when things go well and all the blame when they don't go well.
Edwards is correct to a point that Michigan's Offense is predictable.
Another long year for big Blue is in the makings. Harbaugh won't get it done

I don't think it was the O Line, as much as the starting QB having cramps that cost Harbaugh the game. From what I can tell, his coaching staff is pretty much all brand new, it will take a couple of games, if not a whole season to gel as a coaching staff and for their coaching to start to get traction. Harbaugh's running game wasn't impressive to me, and if he's going to run his particular offense - that part of his offense must be rock solid.

Unpredictability also doesn't mean success if you can't execute. For example, a trick play is supposed to be a surprise, but if you don't block it and execute it correctly - even if it's a surprise, it will blow up on you.

Need unpredictability when you face a team with similar talent though. If they know where you are going to do they can stop it. Notre Dame won the game because Michigan didn't expect the early passing of Wimbush.

McCaffrey looked more poised than Patterson. Had Shea played the whole game I'm not sure the offense does score a TD.
