Just did some perusing on Jim's current backs. I don't know how reliable this scouting report is, but this seems to say they don't have a top tier ground game, and they only have Black as a reliable deep threat. Are all the backs and WR's young and inexperienced? In your opinion, do you think he did a good job recruiting for those key positions in his offense (WR and RB?).

As a top duo, this is as solid as it gets in the Big Ten. Before Higdon went down with an injury against Maryland, he was running as well as anyone in the Big Ten. He's not flashy, but he's a classic Jim Harbaugh back.
[…]
Black was Michigan's best receiver from day one last season, then he got hurt. By all accounts, he has regained his stride and he is absolutely the type of talent who can do big things if the offense is running smooth. Peoples-Jones made more strides than anyone else on the offense last season and Perry remains a steady option in the slot who knows how to get open.

"The Wolverines have a lot of questions offensively moving into 2018. But if Evans and Higdon return, running back shouldn't be one of them. The duo combined to rush 1,679 yards and 17 touchdowns this season.

Productive? Yes.

Perfect? Not quite."

UM has the talent to stretch the field. It's not an experienced core and Patterson has to develop some chemistry with the guys but by seasons and hopefully they got some big plays there.

I just read some articles, yes they are a young bunch. Black according to the link is actually the 2nd best WR on the team. Also read Wu's link about the running backs. Also young and inexperienced. They have pass blocking issues. So a lot of inexperience on all sides, not only the players but the coaching staff too - Jim McElwain first year with Harbaugh, as well as Pep Hamilton and Ed Warriner. I think it will take a year for the coaching staff to gel and like both of you said, the hope is that Michigan will start to develop and gel towards the 2nd half of the season. Wow, colleg coaching and players have a lot more turnover than in the pro's that's for sure. Good luck to Michigan this next game. Looks like Michigan dropped from 14 to 21 with that loss.

Is Harbaugh trying to incorporate the spread into his pro-style offense? I found an interesting article that hints that this may be what is happening. Apparently Shea was a spread QB at Ole Miss.

Up in Michigan, Jim Harbaugh made two rather substantial additions to the Michigan football program this offseason who's impact on the 2018 season are probably not very commonly understood. The first and obvious one is former five-star QB Shea Patterson of Ole Miss, who was recently named the starter for week one. Patterson threw for 2259 yards and 17 TDs a year ago at Ole Miss before suffering an injury and ultimately transferring from the wreckage. With Wilton Speight grad transferring to UCLA the competition was essentially between Patterson and Michigan recruit Brandon Peters who threw for 672 yards last year as a sophomore before Wisconsin's pass rush knocked him out till the bowl game.

The other big addition was OL coach Ed Warriner, who Harbaugh pulled from Minnesota where Warriner had turned up on a life raft after Urban Meyer overhauled his offensive staff in light of the 31-0 fiasco against Clemson. Between these two coaches there is some potential for Michigan to explore a fusion of spread football with the "neanderball" approach they took in the first three years of the Harbaugh era.

"In the age of information, ignorance is a choice"

Information shouldn't offend you just because you choose to ignore it... That's your decision to live your life that way, not mine.. 0-69 with three impact players in 6 years should!!!! Don't be offended by facts or tweets.. Gotta fix your priorities...

But gotcha, it has no affect on a our Super Bowl..mhm.. SURE..

Dont get offended by truth.... Get offended by the lies...

Delanie Walker: Trent Baalke was the reason I did not return to 49ers

"Honestly, Jim Harbaugh was trying to do basically everything in his power to get the deal done to make me stay," Walker said on a conference call Tuesday. "But I don't think the (general manager) had the same picture as Jim Harbaugh at that time. So I realized it was time for me to go somewhere else and show everybody how good I can be at the No. 1 spot, and that's what I've been doing so far."

THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE... Just because some lie to themselves... Doesn't mean I have to nor I will to protect a piece of s**t who decimated our roster...

I'm sorry I don't join the pathetic narrative made up to protect someone who destroyed this roster.. Actually I'm not sorry for advertising the truth....

I cannot advise how some should deal with the truth, I can only try to provide the truth.. That's something guys need to deal with yourselves..

I cannot help you with that.. If truth is offensive, then don't read it..

Simple but don't expect me to believe the b******t narrative spinning..

"More specifically, Gagnon referred to Baalke's promotion from scout to Vice President of Player Personnel in 2010 and, a year later, GM.

Here's what Gagnon had to say on the selection:

Sure, the 49ers became a contender soon after Baalke took over, but they were already ascending with players Baalke inherited such as Patrick Willis, Justin Smith, Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree and Dashon Goldson.

Only three of the 68 other players Baalke drafted from 2010 to 2016 became Pro Bowlers, and one of those was flameout Aldon Smith (taken four spots ahead of J.J. Watt in 2011). Baalke drafted bust after bust in Round 1 (Anthony Davis, A.J. Jenkins, Jimmie Ward and Arik Armstead, and the jury's still out on Joshua Garnett and DeForest Buckner), he foolishly let Delanie Walker walk, and he continually employed players with questionable reputations off the field."

https://www.google.com/amp/s/ninernoise.com/2018/06/30/49ers-bleacher-report-trent-baalke-mistake/amp/

You really expect me to believe 0-69 didn't have an impact on on Super Bowl?!?! Really????

Don't target me or report me because some cannot accept the truth.. Don't redirect your problems on on me. Thats a personal problem.

I can only control myself, I'm sorry you cannot convince me not having a bench didn't affect our Super Bowl.

Having a GM that gave his coach 0 doesn't have an affect..

I wasn't the one drafting... Who was Trent Baalke around here that we hold him above the organization????

I don't f**king get it. Dude was a Seattle spy.

Are some loyal to the 49ers or Trent Baalke?!?!?! Which one is it??

When did TRUTH become Spamming??? When did that happen?
Spinning is a waste of energy... imho

Well they came out vs ND in 3 wide shotgun. I'd say it's more a RPO than spreed but yes it's a different offense when Shea is the QB.
"Ambry Thomas could be weapon on Michigan offense"

"Ann Arbor — Ambry Thomas, Michigan's reserve cornerback and kick returner who dazzled in the season opener with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, is considered to be among the fastest players on the team, if not the fastest.

"Running back Karan Higdon raved about Thomas' speed during Big Ten media days, saying he is the fastest player on the team and has posted a 4.3 in the 40-yard dash. Receiver Nico Collins' face brightened this week when asked about Thomas' speed as he reiterated what Higdon said."

Michigan receivers coach Jim McElwain was asked this week if Thomas has worked with the position group.

"Yeah, he's worked before," he said.

This week?

"Let's go pin that on the Western board," McElwain said, laughing as he pretended to post something on a board."

Lol. Where in this thread in the midst of the hundreds of articles, tweets, and rants rambling on and on and all saying pretty much the same thing did anyone say they were loyal to Baalke?

I must have missed it. People are just criticizing someone for filling these pages with article after article, and tweet after tweet, making it somewhat annoying to try and read through this thread. Just because people don't like all the spamming, that somehow means they love Trent Baalke? Lol.

Wu--you keep repeating yourself post after post after post with mostly the same stuff. We get it, you are absolutely obsessed with Michigan football and Jim Harbaugh, and that's cool. But the way your posts are coming across definitely looks like spamming and it is annoying some people. Has nothing to do with any narrative about Baalke and/or Harbaugh
