I'd bet every dollar I have that NC will be posting in here if Harbs loses to Ohio State

There's a decent amount of posters who ONLY come into this thread if Harbaugh loses, been pretty quite as of late I wonder why

NC actually came in here recently to remind us that he said a while ago that Harbaugh would win a bunch of games this year. He's right even when he isn't. It's astonishing.

Probably before your time, but there was a huge contingent in NinerTalk advocating that Tomsula was going to be better than Harbaugh. Now they have nothing else to hold onto other than "Harbaugh can't win a big game." Meanwhile, the 49ers haven't had a winning season since he left. You be the judge.

Doesn't really matter if he beats Ohio State anyways, no one is beating Alabama this year.

Three groups of the Harb haters.

Group 1: Alex Smith fan boys. They will never let it go that Alex got benched by Harbs.

Group 2: Blame Harbs for not winning SB against Ravens, and have made Harbs their scape goat for what happened. First it was Tomsula is the next John Madden and will win it all. Then it was Baalke is a genius and top 5 GM and now that Jed won't pick his own coach (Tomsula), Baalke will win the SB. Now its well, Harbs can't ever win and KS is the next great coach once the team is healthy, so it all worked out and hating Harbs is justified.

Group 3 : Michigan haters. Like Rambler because he is a tOSU fan. Or Notre Dame fans like evil.

Where is the category for people who liked Harbaugh as our coach, never wanted him to leave, but realize he has character and coaching flaws and call him out on things he deserves to be called out on?

I think you're group 2. Almost all your posts in this thread since he went to Michigan, from what I can remember, have been fairly negative of Harbs

False. I just don't put him on this untouchable pedestal that all the harb-slobberers do. If you say anything that is less than positive about him poleople instantly lose their minds and think that you hate his guts. Take Wu for example. You can't even mention the fact that there was poor play calling at the end of the super bowl without him going on a rant about baalke and yorks and you just hate him and you don't understand how amazing he is, blah blah blah.

Even you can't see past black and white. There actually is a grey. There is exactly what I described. It's how I feel. You don't get to define how I feel because your (or others) opinion differs.

You say you aren't group 2 then you mention the super bowl while bashing Wu, lol. Clearly group 2.

Harbs was a good HC and a great motivator and leader. I was highly entertained by his sideline pirouettes and his passionate approach. But I agree that he had flaws and was far from perfect.

One such issue/flaw was the wasted timeouts that was a routine problem because play calls were not getting in on time. That should not have been an issue 4 years later.

To date his coaching career has been somewhat Andy Reid-esque, always a bridesmaid and never the bride.

I call it like I see it. Calling people "harb-slobbers" is evidence in itself.

Generally, most of your comments in this thread that I've read the past few years have either been neutral-leaning Harb bashing to obvious Harb-bashing.

Perhaps, but coaches that are the "brides" is such a rare category.

How many active College Football coaches have won the "big game'? 6 (Meyer, Saban, Fisher, Miles, Chizik, Dabo)

How many active NFL coaches have won the "big game"? 7 Carroll, Pederson, Bellicheck, McCarthy, John H., Payton, Tomlin

So is Harbs a top 6-7 coach at either level? Not yet. I think any CFB fan would take Harbs over Miles or Chizik. PC and McCarthy might be losing jobs soon.

I just call it like I see it. He's a good coach and has great success turning teams around, but so far always comes up short. There is absolutely no denying that. And most people around here think he's a great coach and it's everybody else's fault but him if the team fails.

You will never find a post that states that I didn't like him, wanted him gone, and never appreciated what he did for us. But the haters get all riled up and turn what I say into what they want to hear. So I get it. It's exactly what you're doing now. Turning what I say into what you think you heard and then running with it. I'm used to it in this thread.
I think winning the "big game" to judge a coach or player is generally over weighted. To use one of the oldest cliché arguments, Dan Marino is better than a lot of SB-winning QBs

Poor comparison. Head coaches and QBs are apples and oranges. I get your point, but head coaches are a different breed. Would you be happy with Dan Reeves career as your teams' coach?

He had a tremendous opportunity to be a bride and his play calling is what cost him his ring.

Yes being the bride is an incredibly tough thing to accomplish, but you play to win championships and there are no consolation prizes if you come up short.

And I believe it is 8 not 7, but it is only 8 if you choose to give Chucky credit for winning with Dungy's team.

His Denver years? Yes. I think his 12 years there were pretty successful

Then we shall agree to disagree. 3 time super bowl loser and his teams were absolutely smashed in those games. Yes, he had great regular season success with Elway carrying the team. But no thank you. That's just my opinion.
