Love that Ryan Day has already added to the OSU/UM rivalry by stealing Mattison and Washington from UM for his own revamped defensive staff.
"Multiple sources have told The Michigan Insider that Arizona State defensive line coach Shaun Nua has indicated his intention to take over that same post at Michigan. The move brings to an end a courtship that began when Nua interviewed with the Wolverines last weekend, and caps off hiring blitz that began with the additions of Josh Gattis and Anthony Campanile last week."

From that article

"I've really watched Josh long enough to know and we talked and have the same philosophy, really, offensively, which I like. I like the idea of him running it. We have some very fine offensive coaches here, no question about that. They feel like, 'Yeah, let's go. This is the direction we're going, so let's go and make it great and make it work.'"

"We want to be an explosive offense," Gattis said, when asked his philosophy. "Obviously, we're not going to get away from some of the base foundation we truly believe in starting with the run game and being able to impose a physical presence. That's where it's going to start for us.

He didn't necessarily say I'm handing the keys to him and we will have a completely different offense. lol
Harbaugh quit yet? Looks like his brother is trying to recreate the 2012 49ers East Side in BAL.

Jim is a very good coach, just not elite.

That pretty much sums it up.

The question of whether or not he can rise above the "good" category will be answered by how well the change is coordinators responds to the demands of the modern game. The mere change itself suggests Harbaugh may finally be getting the message that Bo Ball doesn't win games. We shall see.

It win games, just not big games.

Hey Wu...this sounds like a great sign going forward. The question will be if he can ACTUALLY stay out of it and not let his BoBall philosophy sneak in over time. If he can just be a general, this could be a special year.

Roman + Running QB = well, you know how that ends.

Going to the SB?

The mistake you're making is assuming that because Kaepernick gave zero f**ks about developing as a passer and working on his fundamentals, that Lamar Jackson will be exactly the same.

Basically it sounds like you're saying "all these athletic black guys playing QB are exactly the same."

Whether you want to give him credit or not, he's done well despite not always having a lot to work with. Before he showed up in Buffalo, they were 18th in points scored. In his first year as OC, they were 12th, with Tyrod "if there is a defender within 10 yards of the receiver, they are covered" Taylor at QB nonetheless. They were also the #1 rushing offense in the NFL that year.

When an "athletic QB" actually wins a Superbowl, I'll start to buy it. Kyle talks about how it hamstrings the other 10. But I'm mostly talking about just Lamar Jackson. In the playoffs he looked horrendous and first instincts were to scramble and run. If he can develop into a more complete player, great. But we'll have to see how he does under Roman next year. My guess is more of the same.

Russell Wilson says hi but I do see your point in that Blt leaned heavily into the run with Lamar. If he can't learn to pass it's going to be Kap/ Roman 2.0.
Roman hasn't been given a shot to work with a passing QB for a reason.

Seattle Defense and special teams outscored the Broncos in that Super Bowl.

I guess that would technically count but...yeah...he didn't have to throw a pass that game to win that one.
