Herbert is a better qb overall than purdy and that can't be really questioned

Herbert also sucked hard vs Texans and can't also be questioned

Who's better isn't the point

Signing Najee Harris to be the bell cow might be his best this offseason

They really f**ked up the Pro Bowl. It's not even worth watching anymore. Much rather see them suit up and play the game half ass than watch them play flag football.

Can't remember the last time I watched it

I was about to say the same thing. The pro bowl is no longer for regular football fans.

They don't even play football at the pro bowl anymore.

Should just have the all pro announcement and scrap the pro bowl.

I love Meco but they don't have the horses.

Not yet, but they are close. If Meco can add a dominating running back and a shutdown defender on the line, Meco will have the horses that Houston needs to do some serious damage.

Meh Najee best attribute his his receiving ability and the Harbaugh offense never throws it to backs.

He's a 27 year old RB who has 4 strait 1,000 yard rushing seasons and a former 1st round pick. Harbs was rolling with Gus Edwards and Jk Dobbins last year, neither a 1,000 yard rusher in this league and both better relegated to backup roles instead of being the starter they were last season. His offense requires a bell cow and he might have found it.

3.9 YPC for his career. Bell cow in that if they give him enough touches he can get there. But his best attribute they won't even use effectively.

YPC don't mean as much when you look at utilization and how poor their last team was. Good example is S.Barkley who avg. 3.9 YPC his last season in NY and a career 4.3 YPC there. He had three seasons there in which he didn't even break 4 YPC.

Harris to be fair has avged 4.0 and 4.1 YPC his last two seasons in Pittsburgh both compiling 1,000 yards rushing on bad passing teams. He's still young and only has one season of 300 carries or more in his 4 year career. He is certainly going to benefit playing behind an actual QB in his prime in Herbert as well as running in Harbs style offense.

Steelers weren't poor though. Weren't great but weren't poor. Not like he is coming from a pass first team. Steelers have always been run first.

I don't see Najee ever being an elite running back. Where he adds a lot of value is as a weapon in the pass game. But Harbaugh and Roman weren't smart enough to use Frank Gores receiving ability so I doubt they use Najees.

This is a great point. Used to drive me crazy that they rarely used his receiving skills as a part of our offense. He was a legit dual threat before Harbaugh and Roman took over. Had 5 consecutive years of 40+ receptions before they showed up (topped out at 61 receptions in '06). Most he had under Harbaugh was 28 and the other 3 seasons all under 20 receptions.

He's coming from a team that had 3 different OC's during his time and 4-5 different starting QB's. He didn't have much of a chance to succeed there despite his pedigree out of Alabama.
