Lets be honest- he doen't have the numbers. If he had stayed he would not only have the numbers, but maybe help attain another SB, then he would be considered. But he made the wrong move and followed the money and was never as productive.
If roger craig is getting a hard time, why should he even be considered.

No I doubt he gets in. I loved me some Ricky Watters back in the day too. His numbers are close but his conduct will keep him from getting in.
Also one can argue that he played on a very loaded niner team where defenses really couldn't afford to focus on him and thats why his numbers are so high when he played here.

Damn Watters would be in the HoF if it wasnt for those remarks. Another player that will be in the Watters club is another 9er:
He'll get in. Chad won't.
TO will have a hard time getting in. It may take him 5+ years. Far too many stupid comments and actions in his career. His comments about McNabb have turned off a lot of writers.

0.0001% chance of getting in. Better chance of getting hit by a meteor on the way home from work or school.
I encourage you to take a look at the history of the NFL, and the inductees into the Hall. Only about 3-4 modern players each year are inducted. Watters is not even a top 20 consideration per year.

I think about "sweep" whenever his name comes up.
I'd say NO. He wasn't nearly good enough.
Then you really don't remember how good he was.
In his prime, he was as good, if not better, than Frank Gore.
No. He wasn't.
Ricky was a good player on a great team. When he left, he ran for more yards, but was never a difference maker.
Frank is a GREAT player on a bad team. He is one of the only things that made the 49ers watchable.

I want to add that Bryant Young was a 100 times better NFL player than Watters, and he will probably never be inducted. It is really hard to make it in the hall.

The HOF should be for the elite. Ricky Watters falls short of that in my opinion.
