Ricky Watters In or out of the HOF?

That's a great point.
He has the numbers and he has a ring but that alone doesn't always get you in. Many football experts agree that had he stayed a 49er he'd have been more of a lock for the hall of fame. That was so stupid of him to leave.

He'll get in. Chad won't.

TO will have a hard time getting in. It may take him 5+ years. Far too many stupid comments and actions in his career. His comments about McNabb have turned off a lot of writers.

You also forgot to mention that TO never won himself a ring.

Ricky Watters no way

Bryant Young won't make it either.

Terrell Owens is a lock
There are probably many RBs better then Watters that aren't in.

There are better RBs in today's game that are better then Watters was and probably won't get in.

well he thought he was the reason the 49ers won the super bowl, so the decision was stupid but the man was even stupider. Like many said he was a good player on a great team, he wasn't going to singlehandedly lead a team. If anything he didn't make his teammates better, his teammates made him look good when you have Steve Young as your QB and Jerry Rice on your team that can happen.

You dont think him leaving effected the team in a negative way?
if Jerome Bettis goes in, Watters has to as well. similar numbers, both won a SB.

but since Bettis played for the Steelers he'll make it, but Watters wont. both had around 15,000 AP yards, and 90-95 TD's.

LOL are you serious? T.O. is getting in first ballot easily. look at his career numbers...

2nd all time in rec. TD's, 2nd all time in rec. yards, 5th all time in receptions...

I never said that because I'd rather have Watters over Loville but the point I'm making is he wasn't as good as the other teams thought he was. Watters was good but he wasn't a great player he was impacted by the good protection he had as well as the team around him but if you compare him to the likes of Rice, Taylor and Jones he was the least talented and valuable of the 4.

But yes the loss of Watters did hurt the 49ers but leaving the 49ers hurt Watters as well. The 49ers were hurt by not having an effective running game and Watters was hurt because he wasn't a leader or team player so he didn't care if he lost or won as long as he played well. Art Monk and Randall Cunningham are good but it wasn't because Watters had an effect on them. He needed a support cast so the team would win and he would look better.
No way.
