Could he go to Denver and try to recruit Rodgers?

Denver would have to trade for Payton and Rodgers. They arent a complete enough team to mortgage their future like that.
My guess is that he negotiates a trade to Dallas. Already a complete team

Denver has a pretty good roster, they have young receivers whose talent is wasted with mediocre QB play. Considering this is not a good QB class, they'll be heavy on the QB market and pull a Matt Stafford kind of trade for Russ, Watson or Rodgers. If they go cheaper, they can get Jimmy G.
Now back to Payton I don't now which kind of compensation they'd have to send to NO for him. But I believe Payton doesn't want to coach in 2022 at all.

Payton leaving Saints out to dry. Backs a QB that can't throw and another that shouldn't be throwing as much as he does.
This team is screwed for a few years unless they find a QB in free agency. Even then, there's no coach, no WRs, and half a RB.

And no money to do anything. But Sean Payton's win loss record won't take a bunch of losses cause he "needs time away"

i actually do think theyre a complete team they have a good D good RB and WR (dont know about OL) just missing a QB
but someone brought yp a good reason why he wouldnt go there with Mahomes and Herbert there he may be the 3rd best QB in that division he may not want to go there for that reason alone

Leaving Saints out to dry
The man won 150+ NFL games against the best players and coaches on the planet and has brought the Super Bowl to a franchise that never won with 15+ years of service. Show proper respect he has done very well for himself and his club retires with honor. Let us all hope we can do a fraction that this man accomplished in his field.

In ninerland if a coach doesn't win a super bowl every year, its a total failure.

I don't agree with this. He's been there coach for 15 years. Let me ask you what QB should he have backed? With there salary cap they couldn't afford to bring in anyone and they picked at the end of the draft last year.
I do think they are screwed. Not much talent and not much cap. It's a total rebuild but not all of it falls on Payton. There GM has been kicking the salary cap issue down the road and now it's time to pay the piper.

The Saints went from Super Bowl contender to NFC dud in a span of two years. And given their history they'll be staying in the cellar for a long time.

And they're currently 44 mil over the cap
