I don't know about that. Not sure why you think Josh Rosen is any good.

I don't know man...just thinking out loud. JJ was so bad I can't imagine he would've been worse.
Who would have expected the team's 4th string QB to be garbage? I am shocked I tell ya.

Tough to hate on the guy as he was dealt a tough hand but that was a terrible performance. It's almost as the moment was too big for him as a 15 year vet.

We've seen QBs bobble snaps before... looked like the inside pass rush affected his comfort level from finding the open man (Jennings getting open...Kittle wide open in the flat)... it could be the pressure of the moment... but alot of it could have just been the Eagles Defense. Who knows how other QBs would have faired that game against that defense.

I think he couldn't settle down.. like he would look indecisive, then he'd hit a nice play or two...and you're like ok let him get his rhythm in the second half... but then bam, concussion out for the game. Those 1st and 15/20s to start a series surely didn't help.

Not an excuse for having wounded ducks throws and having no escapability, but he did not get any kind of special game plan.

Did he not used to be fairly mobile like geno Smith, David Webb, type of QB?

I figured we would have got a heavy dose of CMC and Mason, jet sweeps, tosses, screens, and checkdowns, maybe the read option and the wildcat.

None of that happened though.

It's typical shanahan not to change the playbook drastically at all and expect guys to fit into it.

I think we might have had a shot doing the above. Instead he runs spread gets smacked, concussed, and fumbles trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Anda 36 year old who just joined the team 8 games ago.
meanwhile Cam Newton just sitting around younger than JJ
did we even make an inquiry? probably not

cant be mad at him.

this is what he is..

He wasn't prepared at all. If a 7th round rookie can come in and play well a veteran should not look this bad. He should at least be able to snap the ball on time and catch a shotgun. Thats basic.
Prepared or not, people s**t their pants in big games

He couldn't even put his mouth piece in his mouth!

Not his fault, he was just the 4th QB on the team. He wasn´t even on the team until Jimmy injured his foot.
That being said, I hope the usual morons media guys saw that even if Kyle is an offensive mastermind, he still needs a good QB to win games.
The Niners needed a really good Brock Purdy to win this game.

How did Andy Reid look before Mahomes? Exactly

Yup.
Dude couldn't even handle a snap or make an effort to jump on a fumble. He wasn't going to win but he didn't even look like he's played the game before

Reid at least got to lose in the playoffs playing a healthy McNabb and Alex for those entire games.
What a garbage 🗑 pile trash heap.

Guy was never really part of the team. Just a rental emergency QB that the entire roster knew wouldn't get the job done if he had to play in a game of consequence. He was there to mimic the opposing QB in practice each week. He knew it, the team knew it. Hard to blame him too much aside from he's just a journeyman backup that should never be in that position in an ideal world. He also suffered a concussion, which probably contributed to him wanting to get out of there.

I feel sorry for him. The moment was too big for him and it was obvious he was nervous and in outside of his depth. Once Purdy was down the game was never going our way. It is a shame but I am sure Josh put in his best efforts. No point beating up on him. Beat up on those who should have been protecting Purdy starting with Kyle and his inability to properly develop pass protection that works around his latest prodigy
How is he still in the NFL? Release him now
