I can't believe this is the guy we signed on Sunday night right after Jimmy's injury

Showed more effort leaving the locker room than jumping on a fumble.

Guy was never really part of the team. Just a rental emergency QB that the entire roster knew wouldn't get the job done if he had to play in a game of consequence. He was there to mimic the opposing QB in practice each week. He knew it, the team knew it. Hard to blame him too much aside from he's just a journeyman backup that should never be in that position in an ideal world. He also suffered a concussion, which probably contributed to him wanting to get out of there.
I feel sorry for him. The moment was too big for him and it was obvious he was nervous and in outside of his depth. Once Purdy was down the game was never going our way. It is a shame but I am sure Josh put in his best efforts. No point beating up on him. Beat up on those who should have been protecting Purdy starting with Kyle and his inability to properly develop pass protection that works around his latest prodigy

That was a pathetic showing for a dude that has been in the NFL for 10+ years even if he served as a backup all that time.
Totally clueless and inept. Could not get the offense going at all.

Who exactly would you have signed instead?

You should know by now that the opposite of what he posts is typically the truth.

I turned the game off once he fumbled it and made pretty much no effort to recover it. His first drive (or was it second after Mcaffrey scored?) he's set up with great field position and proceeds to take 2 delay of penalties and a sack, taking us out of field goal range. Next drive just drops the hike and makes no effort to get the ball. Once Purdy went down we didn't have much of a shot, but I was shocked at how utterly unprepared and clueless Josh Johnson looked. It's like he just signed with the team for a paycheck and wasn't even in meetings of practice a single day while he was on the roster.

That being said, I hope the usual morons media guys saw that even if Kyle is an offensive mastermind, he still needs a good QB to win games.
The Niners needed a really good Brock Purdy to win this game.
How did Andy Reid look before Mahomes? Exactly
Alex Smith was chuckin em deep like he never chucked before under Andy.

You will find posts from when TL went down where I advocate we get Cam. He's a 33 y/o former MVP 12 years younger than TB12. He could have worked a month with the team to get up to speed behind the scenes and in game shape while JG was playing. He could have ran the TL offense we spent all offseason installing.
JJ had no business dressing for playoff games

Ya he's gone for good. For a vet he was beyond awful. Crazy that he's lasted in the league so long.
