It sort of blows up the Purdy "system QB" stuff doesn't it. LOL.
I can't believe he can't get the snap off before the play clock runs out. He also can't catch a shotgun snap. I realize 4th string QB. But wow. This guy has been on enough NFL teams to be able to do basic stuff like that.

SD this guy is from SD. You should have warned us.

Would have been better off with Kurt Benkert.
JJ was a signing of convenience, already was familiar with the system and he was a known quantity to the coaches, they knew what to expect with him

He honestly wasn't really this bad in College at University of San Diego Torreros. He was good even. At times moderate as a backup over the years. This was a particularly awful game. He looked like he didn't expect to play.

I think JH was at San Diego and that's how JJ got here to begin with. One final middle finger from JH to Jed I suppose
Dude pooped the bed. He won't get another shot in the NFL when he couldnt take a loaded roster like ours and do anything positive. The good thing for him is he should qualify for a pension.

He also dispelled the myth that any QB can come in and play QB in Kyle's system. I've seen that so many times since Brock took over.

Brock is definitely not a system QB. He's a good QB.

I was shocked when I learned yesterday he is 36 years old. For some reason I thought he was in his upper 20s. I don't think he did his homework during the week. There was one huddle where the WRs looked looked towards the sideline as if to say "wtf is that play?". Delay of game. As if JJ regurgitated the playcall in gibberish.

I disagree. Every QB is a system QB to some extent. Brock fits the Niners system but would be lost in Buffalo. Any decent coach is going to tap into the skills that his Q^B has and shy away from what he can't do well. Brock is good at recognizing defenses and spotting open receivers but his arm isn't the greatest. You aren't going to see many 40-50 yard air passes over a defender right into the receivers arms like you see from Allen, Herbert or Burrow. There's no question he is limited. Not as much as Jimmy but stil limited. Same for his mobility. He can move around in the pocket but he's not going to make many 10+ yard runs.

The point is he doesn't need to do those things in Kyle's system. Therefore he is a system QB.

He's not a system QB in the way the media insinuates. Claiming the system makes him. Josh Johnson can't do anything in that system. So he's a good QB. You don't need to throw 70 yards. His arm is fine assuming he hopefully doesn't need surgery on the elbow. I hope he can just recover and be fine.

Yea. What a dumbass move. I know there aren't good QBs available but there's absolutely no way he was the best one on the street. You could've plugged in some practice squad QB from another team and done better.

Cam freakin Newton was on the street. Imagine calling him up and offering him a chance to play a roll on a team gunning for a ring. He turns that down?

He did complete a few short throws and seemed like he might be functional in the short game. Maybe even get better as the game went on. Oh well, that fumbled snap was a bad look.
