Johnson only had 15 pass attempts, and 28 of Lance's 31 pass attempts this season were in a monsoon. It literally says nothing. 🙄

LMFAO It rained hard for 5 minutes in the forth quarter. That is not a monsoon for the whole game. Stop making excuses for a high draft pick who could not come out balling like Purdy has (Last draft pick) Fields had to play in the same conditions. Fields was better than Lance that day. The record shows Johnson had a better completion percentage and a better QB rating despite a nasty concussion.

Since your post got lost in the Lance there, I'll post the response here.

If you're being genuine with your question... I have a question for you.

Let's just say Brock's first NFL action wasn't during the season.... but lets say his first real NFL action was coming in for Jimmy G, after Jimbo got injured against the #1 ranked Eagles pass rush. And on Purdy's second snap, Jennings and the TE let Reddick get a free run on a playaction pass... and by the time Purdy turned around from the Playaction, Reddick drilled him hard (like what happened to Josh Johnson).

And now his welcome to the NFL moment is happening against Eagles IN Philly, at the NFL Championship game.

How would Purdy look? We saw how Purdy looked against the Cowboys, and that was after starting many games in a row. More so than Josh has ever in his career. Brock did what he had to do vs the Cowboys and we won the game. But would a Brock getting his first NFL action of the season vs the Eagles in the NFC Championship game play that much better than the Brock vs Cowboys?

I just don't think so. As much as I feel comfortable/calm as s**t with Brock at QB, that's just a tall order.

Brock had 6 NFL starts going into that Eagles game. Josh Johnson has had 10 total starts in his whole career... all spread out.

Josh Johnson has been in the league 13 years…..13 YEARS!!! Johnson has had 3 years in Kyles offense. He was absolute dog crap with arguably the most talented offense in the league and at the moment that could have defined his entire career he folded like a cheap suit.

I was a big fan of his when he came into the league. He had a ton of talent, I just can't believe the complete lack of leadership and poise he showed when he had the greatest opportunity of his career.

I'm not saying he should have won the game, I'm just saying with 13 years in the league he should have at least been competent.

He didn't have the opportunity to?

He hit some passes, and helped on the drive where CMC broke one right, tying the game?...and on others he was rushed out of the pocket a few times instead of hanging in there and anticipating a reciever to be break open.... he focus on one side of the field when he got flushed that way, and never turned all the way back to see Kittle by himself in the flat. These mistakes are fine early on until a QB gets themselves into a rhythm. How ever taking his eyes off the ball for a snap being too worried about the defense, and trying to pick it up instead of just falling on that was huge mistake that the worse time.

That all being said... he had one more half to shake off cobwebs...our team has shown how they can play as a whole in the second half of games.. I'm sure Kyle and Griesie had a good talk with him and had a better plan for the second half.....

but then he got taken out on our first drive in the second half. No opportunity to keep us in the game... no opportunity over come his first half (like Purdy was able to do weeks back).

The field was in horrible condition and the ball
was wet the entire game. Trying to say Johnson's 15 passes and Lance's 31 passes carry any relevance is a total joke. You know what Lance didn't do? Take his eyes off a shotgun snap and fumble the ball. And he certainly didn't lay on the ground looking at the ball with no intention of trying to get it back.

This is the Josh Johnson thread and yall let him turn it into a Trey bashing one. (I'm presuming that's the case, because of the replies to his posts)

Fields completed 8 for 17 passes and had two fluke plays. I'll give it to Fields for scrambling and making those 2 big plays but outside of that, he was awful. Trey on the other hand was okay. Nothing awful, nothing great.
Was Josh Johnson not properly prepared for the Philly game?

The video of his hands literally shaking like he was nervous surprised me

To your point, the online sure didn't do him any favors either.

It just sucks all the way around and to be clear it was by no means Josh Johnson's place to save the season or a Super Bowl appearance, i just think he should have been able to play much better than we saw.

No need to block him, his posts make me laugh all the time. You just got to remember he's nearly a 60 year old man who's a troll. That alone is just hilarious.
I hope I never see this waste of a roster spot in a Niner uniform ever again.
Who had worse appearance in Niners uniform? Brian Allen or Josh Johnson? Both give me nightmares

At least Josh Johnson had a completion to Kittle for a first down. Brian Allen's performance against the Dolphins was something we may never see in our lifetimes ever again

if someone told me Brian Allen was actually a random fan who won some contest to see who would start for the next 49ers game, I would've believed them.

Can this tread get locked and hidden? Nothing to discuss unless you come here for PTSD.
