Agree. Baltimore has some great counters to that RPO. But yeah somehow stopping LJ on the runs is very important. I like our chances if we meet them again. Our defense held them to 3 points (I think) in the 2nd half of the Baltimore game.

Good point. I thought kaep was making slow progress as a pocket passer when Harbaugh left. That and Baalkes's failure to draft WRs worth anything.

He was making so much progress that Harbaugh and Roman were still cutting back on the playbook in 2014. Dude had zero interest in being a pocket passer.

Meh, name any notable receivers he had that had any significant speed, hands, and the ability to uncover during Harbaugh's last year.

Meh. I saw the same brain farts with Steve Young. I.e. when he was fresh out of Tampa Bay and just learning the WCO, he'd run once he got into trouble instead of passing. That's typical of QB's that have the speed and mobility to score with their feet vs using their vision and mind. Having said that, that play was disappointing. But even Jimmy has had some brain farts this season too.

Jimmy G may have had some brain farts, but he has never had one like that. Takes someone special to be that blind.

Yeah, unfortunately that's how a lot of folks see Colin. That's OK. Compare that kind of vision vs Brees when he spotted Sherman out with a hamstring, that dude is deadly as a QB.

I saw Colin similar to Steve during Steve's early stages, however, Greg Roman isn't a QB or a WR and I think that added to Baalke's incompetence to draft decent WR's that can actually be productive in a decent NFL offense. I compare the last year of Harbaugh's WR's vs Kyle's current Wr's, and I just don't think there is any comparison. We lost Ginn, Kyle, Manningham, and never replaced those guys with young and talented WR's and so Colin, I don't think, ever had a chance to develop.

Contrast that to Kyle getting Deebo, Emanuel, coaching up Borne, and benching Pettis and Goodwin. I think given the WR personnel and Baalke's incompetence, that doomed him as a QB. Sad, but I'm sure he still has a million or so in the bank for his troubles.

I would challenge LJ's accuracy. Run blitz and force him to be an accurate passer. Play zone in the back but place most of their focus on the TE and their main WR.

Their offense really won't get tested unless their Defense weakens.
They're already complaining about Jackson taking hits. Lol. If you are gonna run your qb, he better be able to take those hits, because they are coming.

Yeah that irritates me. Aside from sliding, you are like any other player. Its like they want a free pass all the way to the Lombardi.

What team is okay with their QB taking hits?

It comes with the territory of being a running QB. So if they want teams to stop with the hits, then don't run your QB like a RB.

Lamar took a huge shoulder to the ribs right there. Even Aikman said LJ can't last too long taking a bunch of those.
Wait until the playoffs. Defenses are going to just light him up and make refs call it.
