Greg Roman, is he really good?

Wish we could get Marty Morninweg. He is the perfect example of how to run a TRUE WCO, while tailoring it around a QB with substantial limitations.

Seriously, what is Ted Tollner doing nowadays? Just as when the 49ers brought him in to help clueless Hostler, maybe he could work with Roman too.

roman gets his head out of his behind we could be undefeated.
defense gave up 10 points..10 and shut the panthers down.
we are actually running great on the panthers and we don't do it they blitz we continue 7 step drops
nobody will say this but its true. the coaches make the players look HORRIBLE
im tired of it

Anyone else remember this?

So was the dude flat out lying or does he even know what the west coast offense is? That abomination he put on the field today doesn't resemble WCO on its best day and I am offended that they could be mentioned in the same breath. Don't paint your Ford Escort red and try telling me it's a Ferrari dude.
The only WCO thing about this offense is the terminology. The scheme/philosophy doesn't resemble Walsh's offense at all.

I'm confident in saying that this coaching staff does less with their players on offense than any other coaching staff in the NFL. Defense, that's a whole different story, I feel that they have some truly outstanding coaches on that side of the ball with Fangio, Tomsula, Leavitt, Donatell, Greg Jackson...etc. I have zero trust in Roman, Morton, Chryst or most of the other offensive coaches.

The funny thing is that we often hear in the media how good Greg Roman is. But rarely do we hear Vic Fangio get any credit. Can't stand that b******t. Vic Fangio have saved Greg Romans bad offense so many times the last three years!

Only 4 Carries for Gore in the second half. After he had 12 carries for 61 yards in the first half.
After 40+ games with Roman calling plays, All i can say is "you can't fix stupid"..............

that's it.
the inability to make adjustments the arrogance to keep doing things that don't work but trying them a different way the refusal to adapt the refusal to get dirty to win.
i had a bad feeling from the point we kicked the field goal instead of lining up and going for it on 4th and 1. we haven't hesitated on going for it all year but jim let the panthers scare him. gore could have gotten that 1 yard. we could have gotten that 1 td and that is the entire difference in the game
he let the panthers punk him
let that be the jaguars? oh yea from our own 30 we're going for it
that set a negative tone and the line played bad since that point

there is a reason roman is still on our coaching staff
if he actually knew what he was doing another team would have taken him. think about how many coordinators got taken who were coordinators AFTER he got to the 49ers..

The dude does not know how to attack a defense through the air...plain and simple. He stinks. Boy do I miss the ATTACKING passing style of BW

Where has the short/intermediate passing game gone? Screens and slants are non-existent in this offense. We have a 3rd and 7 and we're throwing 20 yards down the field? SMH! I can't deny Roman's running schemes, but to be the worst passing attack in the league is unacceptable. Come on, we're the San Francisco 49ers!

Maybe, just maybe, some players are limiting their play selection and offensive philosophy.
