49ers have the worst ranked passing offense in the NFL and DON'T have a Lombardi trophy to soothe their woes over that.

Don't know how you made this logical leap. I didn't say an offensive-minded coach with no play calling experience. And Baltimore won the SB and beat us right? Not so shabby having a Lombardi trophy.

You said to call john and ask how he did it... Well he hired Caldwell who had no play calling experience.
the offense would work best if greg didn't call the plays.

give him a mandate to get everyone involved.

and then let someone else call the plays because he doesn't know what he's doing when it counts. and that's the only time it does count. yes that did make sense.

But they DID set a rushing record against the Packers, so there's that.

Seriously though, I don't think roman is going anywhere soon but if the niners were to somehow miss the playoffs the only reason would be because of the offense. The FO would have to make some heads roll and I think he's the guy at that point.

If that were the case I would love to give Rathman the chance. He knows the real WCO and would probably incorporate it more

every game we have lost has been because of the offense.
he is in charge of the offense.
3 times is enough to show that you are throwing our season down the drain. i can concede a loss in seattle happening. but the colts and the panthers were guaranteed wins if he simply did the logical thing which happens to be the best thing we're good at.

why is it he'll run against all the other teams and then try to prove himself against the better ones.. why wouldn't we continue to be us and not be someone else out there?

especially the way frank was running against the #2 defense, why is he scared? that's what it is. why is he scared? why is he scared to challenge a defense and say we don't have to out scheme you, we will out muscle you. you are #2 ranked run defense, we're offensively #1 run offense. 1 beats 2 deal with it.

Caldwell arrived in Baltimore after coaching the last 10 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, including the previous three as head coach. In his first year at the helm (2009), he led the Colts to the AFC Championship and a berth in Super Bowl XLIV. Caldwell, who earned a Super Bowl ring (2006) with Indy, spent six seasons tutoring one of the NFL's all-time great QBs, Peyton Manning. During the course of Caldwell's time in Indianapolis, the Colts achieved much success, tying an NFL record with nine-consecutive playoff appearances and winning six AFC South division titles.

Honestly, I don't put all the blame on Roman for the 32nd ranked pass offense, I think 60% this year should go to Kaepernick. Seriously, does every pass that he throws have to be a fastball. What about seeing the field, Drew Brees is 6 ft. and he sees the field as good as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning at 6'4" and 6'5". I haven't gave up Kaepernick just yet, but this dude really regressed as a QB.

One last thing get Kyle Williams the f**k outta there and give someone with height and speed a chance, like hello, Jon Baldwin I think would be a pretty decent deep threat if utilized right....ROMAN!!!

I saw Kaepernick put a lot of passes right on the money, passes to Boldin, Manningham, that past to McDonald deep couldn't have been any more perfect, people seem to complain about the times he misses passes, but he shows some sensational accuracy at times. Yeah, he has the tendency of gunning the ball in there at times, the last QB had the tendency to sail passes 3-4 feet over the receivers head, you take the good with the bad. Kaepernick's issues are largely correctable, the issues with the playcalling...might not be, I just keep seeing the same mistakes repeated over and over again, ad nauseum, getting away from the running game, setting up passing plays with only one viable receiving target, having the QB take long drops against aggressive defenses, not utilizing screens or slants to back off a heavy blitzing defense and on and on.

The playcalling was much like the Seattle and Indy games, same look of ill-preparation, or even the Rams games last season where it looked like the opposing defense knew what playcalls were coming as if they had been in the huddle with the offense. Not sure if perhaps Ginn tipped them off but the Panthers were jumping on routes and making the right call on a significant amount of plays today.

I only recall one slant to Manningham on a 3rd and long from our 5(?) yard line. The pass was completed for a 1st down. Still, on the last INT the play design had two SF wr's end their routes side by side....you could argue Kaep had no idea which guy to throw the ball to. WR blow a route? Or bad play design?

I recall two slants, one to Manningham, one to Boldin and three screens, against a team that was bringing a ridiculous amount of pressure and blitzing like crazy, not even close to enough IMO.
