Roman disgusts me and harbaugh shouldn't get a pass for letting roman call bs like that.

lol Don't think that didn't cross my mind.
I agree with the majority of the posters who seem to question why on earth our offensive players are not used to their strengths. Put James in space and see what happens. Give the ball to Hunter more often and see how he gashes up the middle AND spread the defense by running sideline to sideline.

Honestly, I don't put all the blame on Roman for the 32nd ranked pass offense, I think 60% this year should go to Kaepernick. Seriously, does every pass that he throws have to be a fastball. What about seeing the field, Drew Brees is 6 ft. and he sees the field as good as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning at 6'4" and 6'5". I haven't gave up Kaepernick just yet, but this dude really regressed as a QB.

One last thing get Kyle Williams the f**k outta there and give someone with height and speed a chance, like hello, Jon Baldwin I think would be a pretty decent deep threat if utilized right....ROMAN!!!

I saw Kaepernick put a lot of passes right on the money, passes to Boldin, Manningham, that past to McDonald deep couldn't have been any more perfect, people seem to complain about the times he misses passes, but he shows some sensational accuracy at times. Yeah, he has the tendency of gunning the ball in there at times, the last QB had the tendency to sail passes 3-4 feet over the receivers head, you take the good with the bad. Kaepernick's issues are largely correctable, the issues with the playcalling...might not be, I just keep seeing the same mistakes repeated over and over again, ad nauseum, getting away from the running game, setting up passing plays with only one viable receiving target, having the QB take long drops against aggressive defenses, not utilizing screens or slants to back off a heavy blitzing defense and on and on.

The playcalling was much like the Seattle and Indy games, same look of ill-preparation, or even the Rams games last season where it looked like the opposing defense knew what playcalls were coming as if they had been in the huddle with the offense. Not sure if perhaps Ginn tipped them off but the Panthers were jumping on routes and making the right call on a significant amount of plays today.

Yes, Kaepernick has shown a lot of good passes and accuracy, but you can't sit there and tell me he hasn't regressed as a QB. His touch on his passes, his pre-snap reads, decision making less than stellar. I agree, play calling was horrible, but you gotta also take into consideration that Kaepernick changes plays at the LOS too, that's why I also don't put all the blame on Roman for his play calling.

But whatever I'm getting over it, all will be forgotten if he wins this Sunday I promise.

At times I feel we don't even deserve LMJ. Do you know how many teams would kill to have a talent like him to utilize on their offense yet our coaches can't even figure out how to use him? Unbelievable. Can't blame LMJ for being as pissed as he was seeing as he watched our offense stink it up on the field while guys like Kyle Williams get chance after chance only to f**k up, from the sidelines; our crap for brains OC relies on vets like Gore, VD, and Boldin to carry the offense because he has no idea how to utilize the younger talent on the roster himself.

Agree completely. I appreciate that sometimes they are unorthodox and do things to surprise bad teams. Things like Dixon's return last week or the pass plays to Miller. The problem is that they are only this creative against bad teams and it is few and far between.

The problem is that it is very clear that they do not practice passing to the RB. With Rathman on the coaching staff I can't believe that he would not be able to help with that! He was one of the biggest successes out of the backfield for the Niners.

With someone so in tune with the WCO on your coaching staff, it blows my mind that we see no resemblance of that style of passing attack.

Once it has been implemented then practice the hell out of it! They clearly learned the read option by practicing it last year, why not do the same with plays that have worked for over thirty years?

Because Kap came from a college that ran the pistol offense. It is his natural element at this stage in his career. Those plays that were run 30 years ago were with different players (two of which were GOATs), different coaching staff, different era. Sorry for stating the obvious, but please don't think for one second that implementing a WCO is as simple as saying, "Let's go to a WCO. The RB coach ran it as a player, surely he can teach it". There are timing routes being run and I hope to illustrate this using the CAR game film once it's available. I see a number of times where Kap completes his dropback only to double clutch then the play breaks down and it's scramble mode.

I agree with you that passes to the RBs need to be thrown more often, especially on 1st down pass plays where a 4-5 yard gain is sufficient.

I hope to get a more accurate read on whether it is poor play calling/design that dooms Kap, such as long developing patterns while knowing CAR was getting good QB pressure. This has been mentioned a few times by other posters and I see it happening. Is it indecision on Kap's part, little separation on the WR part, or bad pre-snap reads that force Kap to make too many post snap reads? This will be an interesting game to dissect and I encourage others with coaches film to do the same so that we can come back with different takes.

I agree brother1 Let me know if I can assist...and thanks for your work, in advance.

That was the waving the white flag moment to me. If you talk about your team being physical and how you're going to build a bully and the pride and joy of your team is the running offense, backing down there was basically akin to throwing in the towel, what message does that send to the rest of the team?

People forget too that HaRoMan called a run play IN the EZ from the Q formation. Gore had to run about 5-6 yards JUST to get out of the EZ for a 1/2 yard gain and NO safety. This is the kind of moronic play-calling that loses you games.

kind of reminds you about a fake toss to ginn near our own end zone its a pattern and i feel bad for people who are either unable or unwilling to see this from roman,,,, again with no pushback from JH. Jh is just as bad in this regard in my opinion, he lets this s**t happen

Seriously. The freaking Panthers have 4 guys with over 350+ yards receiving already and one of them is Ted Ginn. Cam couldn't complete a pass to save his life...he was airing balls 10 feet over receivers heads all game but somehow, their coaches find ways to use all of their personnel AND get production/wins. Now, our coaches?

seattle found ways to win games when they were not at their best. i will just let our "effort" ,"coaching" and results from sunday speak for themselves in that regard . I can trace back our outcoaching this year to right before the seattle game,, JH spent all week whining about clay mathews from the week before when he should have been looking at seattle. I am not sure if our coaches are just arrogant to think we can just show up and win a game or if they just are plain not that good this year against good teams and fellow coaches

I am in total agreement. Does anyone remember the Kaep that played that first game against the Bears? He was dropping balls perfectly from every type of pass available. He was mobile, he looked confident. There is some difficulty in accepting the slight regression, but I do not think it is a talent thing, actually I think it is more of a mental thing. When the game is tight, CK seems to get a little "nervous" (at least IMHO) and doesn't look anything like the QB we know he is capable of being. It has to affect the play execution or pre-snap reads in some manner. I think he is going to get into a much better flow as players return and that we will start to see the loose version of Kaep as we near the post season.

JH=roman enabler

Either JH is enabling Roman, giving him too much power with his moronic, asinine play calling OR it's very possible JH is just as clueless. Can't understand for the life of me why he, as a head coach, continues to allow Roman to vomit all over the game plan and become reckless with his play calling. He's just as bad and needs to be held accountable as well.
