Greg Roman, is he really good?

I never played a snap of football in my life but I, as a casual fan, can sniff out just about every goddamn play.

Perhaps Roman is s**t.

Did anyone see us run out of a set that wasn't jumbo package 1 WR or 2 WRs without a fullback?

The creativity in the run game is non-existent. It is so tough to watch 9 people load the box knowing a run won't work.

the wham played work
and then he proceeded to not call it again

everything that works he doesn't go back to it.

someone needs to check his bank account because he is literally throwing the games

I'm just saying we don't line up 3 WRs to spread the defense and then run. Ever. Why!!!!

I think Harbaugh wanted Bill Callahan which would have been much better.

This is where my complaints come in. If you and I, from our couch with a cold frosty beer in our hands, can simply diagnose a run or pass play with an 80-90% success rate, what do you think NFL defenses can do?

My bet is by and large they know what the Niners are running and it is simply a matter of out executing them. This is why the Niners beat teams they are more talented than and struggle to beat teams that have the same level of talent.

Too simply, much better to line the fullback and #2 TE out wide to fool defenses with, after all we're still in the NCAA and..................oh wait.

Harbaugh wanted Marc Trestman, Marc Trestman wanted a head coaching spot, which he did get. Had Trestman become the OC, this passing game would be leaps and bounds better than what we are seeing currently.

Harbaugh got hired and decided to bring along all his buddies, in the mix he brought in some good coaches and some terrible coaches.
Jimmy Raye would have pounded the Saints up the gut on route to a 20-14 victory

Jimmy Raye was watching the game today and was overheard asking "why is the 49ers playcalling so predictable?"

Well, I don't know about "terrible." I would say, coaches that brought some wrinkles that had some success, but are now being snuffed out. I don't think we have an answer. We need some changes in the game planning and play calling -- both.

It's because of that yahoo Roman.

Another issue is the sheer amount of time it takes to get a play off. These time outs the Niners take in the first quarter because the play call has not been there has been a problem for what seems like an eternity. Damn near every other team in the NFL can get a play call in with plenty of time to make adjustments. The Niners cannot. This also destroys the Niners in the two minute drill. I also think this is limiting what Kaep can do with the offense. He's far to concerned with getting all the adjustments just right in a limited amount of time because the play call gets in with just about 9 seconds left to get the play off.

That is on Roman and Harbaugh. And quite frankly I think it is on Roman more than Harbaugh.

Again, Roman will be gone at the end of the season if not before then. This offense has had problems since he's been here and it hasn't gotten better. QBs have changed, but the overall issues with it have remained.

exactly

he doesn't even have a plan.

call the play get it in let him make the adjustments

the same problems we've had the entire time here

if jim has balls he'll fire him before they even get back to new orleans

that's 4 games

This, this is flat out embarassing. Harbaugh needs to start calling the plays or promote somebody.

100% agree... How does an offense like this expect to win on the road? Like seriously, how is this acceptable at an NFL level? Do they really think road games will be like stanford vs cal state fullerton or some sh*t? Our offense cant handle crowd noise... almost all our timeouts are taken just to save a penalty... think of how it effects our defense, lets say they have a bad D call they would probably just go with it rather than waste a timeout cause they know the offense needs them... if there are even any left!

the same reason every defense we face rushes the passer full throttle and blitzes the entire house because they know we won't run a single screen

not a single 1

ever

even when its obvious

even when we see the other team 3 step dropping

even when we see the other team running screens

we don't do anything

when we got the ball back i knew we weren't going to do anything simply because roman was calling the plays

what happens? the saints rush full throttle because they know there is no possibility of a screen pass and what happens? he is sacked before the wr's even finish their routes

and we're losing close games and its because of him directly

And when they do try a screen or a playaction, it always seems to end up going to Bruce Miller, seriously WTF?

Yup, I don't even think that roman was his second choice. Shaw and trestman were more ideal for the job
