Jeff Garcia: Overrated or Underrated?

I think Garcia was underrated as an NFL player for the most part, and never really got much credit.

However... I did attend an Ohama Nighthawks vs Orlando Tuskers games a few years back (yes, I was the one) and he was not impressive at all. Old man time had caught up on him. RB Dominic Rhodes was on the Tuskers, he looked to have lost a step, but was one of the better players on the field.

Because Steve YOung threw away a LOT OF GAMES. The niners could of had 2-3 more rings if it wasn't for YOUNG throwing away the games against Dallas.
Steve Young was only active for 7 seasons with the niners.

Garcia had 5 seasons. It was T.O who ruined the team. Tai streets was alright.... JJ STOKES was reliable.I mean that comeback against NY GIANTS amazing. That beatdown from the Bucaneers...SAD.


Now that i think about it its weird how the niners couldn't have won a ring in that era. They had a Good Defense (weak pass def), Good run game in Hurst,Excellent Recivers, Good QB. Mariuchi at fault? T.O? Turnovers?
Those were good football days tho. The NFL is so different now. Chiefs remind me of the bucs right now.

# 5 was a tough SOB ...I will forever remember the comeback against the Giants , one of the best 49ers games of alltime

that would make me sad. i love him to death for what he did for our team,. coming out of nowhere when all we had was rick mirer and steve stensrod the biggest mistake ever made was for nolan to not bring him back when garcia was begging to come back. would have been a great teacher for alex. it eventually worked out ok for us and for alex but still
