Michael Crabtree Thread

this might get Arizona to a 2-14 record.
I'm surprised SEA didn't sign him.

Going back watching old 49er games, I feel like Crabtree really hurt us in a lot of games.

He made some plays... but he also dropped so many key passes I lost count.

would've never made the Super Bowl without him tho. he converted so many clutch 3rd downs that season.

I've always liked Crabtree and he balled out that super bowl run. I don't know why he gets a bad rap I guess because he was over drafted but thats not his fault. 54 career Tds is something he should be proud of.

I wouldn't say he was overdrafted. IMO, the two years of foot problems at the beginning of his career turned him from a potential #1 receiver into a "possession" receiver. It also didn't help him that he has never played with a top-end QB.

f**king hated that from day 1, thinking hes entitled to getting more money than his draft slot at 10 and more than heyward bey because he was supposed to be the 1st wr and drafted higher. Then you have deion sanders talking bs on nfl net being his mouth piece, he misses all TC then finally signs what week 6? and plays Houston. Just felt he didnt want to be a 9er from day 1 and was more about money when he didnt do s**t and just lived off his accolades is that pass happy big 12 and texas tech

Immature, poorly advised kid. Cost himself a lot of respect.

I totally hear you guys and think that Crabtree did lose a lot of respect for holding out. But to play devil's advocate here....

Not a single one of us would have been simply ok with Darrius Heyward-Bey making more money than us. Period. As fans, it sucked that Crabtree held out. If I am putting myself in his shoes though, totally get it.
Crabtree doesn't know any of us personally so why are some of us taking his holdout personal? Holdouts are just part of this business. In the end he proved to be a better WR than Heyward-Bey so it seems he was right. Not sure its fair to call him immature and poorly advised. Throughout our time as fans we've seen way worse. Crabtree had a weird vibe sometimes on camera but he never seemed immature to me.
Not Crabs fault we billed him as a 1 and he's a 2. He's had a decent career. I look forward to Sherm/Crabs fun this year. I never liked Crabs since the holdout. Who the eff holds out because he felt like he should have been drafted higher and wants the same pay as the guy who got drafted where the player felt they should have gone? Was happy as hell when we drafted him, but those good feelings quickly turned sour and have pretty much never left.

The point was about recognizing the methodology of the draft/salary scale. It wasn't his fault he was injured but it did impact his draft slot. A good adviser would have told him to accept what he had no power to change. Of course, he may have had that advice but chose to ignore it.

In the end, it doesn't matter. All water under the bridge.

Generally poor reviews for Isabella and Butler. One can't get off press and the other can't catch (and is now injured). Both getting outplayed by their 6th round pick.

That's shocking. I was pushing for us draft either player. Crazy how that turned out.

Me too. Dude had solid hands and almost caught everything thrown his way.

It's a shame Greg Roman and Harbs were too idiotic to hand the ball to Gore just one time. That will be Harbs legacy as a Niner. Only coach to lose a Superbowl.

And yet, folks wanna whine about Seattle throwing the ball on 2nd down...
