So those players who have not been asked to re-sign do not fit into the compensatory equation.

I think MM is drunk.

Reread. It says they have not been asked not that they were asked not to re-sign

I don't see why we wouldn't want him on our roster. He was our most productive receiver last year. Maybe he can bulk up a bit and play some TE in certain sets. Or be a redzone threat. He's a powerful blocker.

Time for the young guys to take over. It's not that Boldin is bad, he's just too old now for a rebuilding team. Why in the world would Boldin want to try and pack on a bunch of weight at this point in his career? This isn't madden and no Boldin will not be bulking up for a late career position change.

Walker is 100% right..Boldin doesn't deserve to sit through a rebuild..with his 1-2 yrs left he deserves to contend and hopefully win a super bowl..he a true professional and gave everything he has on every play for the 49ers..a sure HFer..wish him the best on and off the field..
Sign a 1 day contract with Cardinals and retire.
Bring Boldin Back

On FA WR Anquan Boldin: Source said #Saints are making the strongest push to sign him & he loves ex-#49ers, now NO's, WR coach John Morton

That would be a solid fit. He can fill that Colston role

That really sucks, I was hoping the 49ers would re-sign him. Every time he's left an offense the following year that offense struggled.

Sucks, but he will look really good with Drew Brees throwing balls to him.

"If you love someone, let them go"

I love him and appreciate what he did for us. We probably won't be contenders this season. I think it makes sense to move on for both parties. Anquan can chase a ring while we rebuild. I'm pulling for him.
We should have kept him. We don't have WRs pushing him off of the roster. In fact, our WR core reminds me of our offensive line of last year. We will be stuck playing people that have no business on an active NFL roster at some point next year.

Ellington, patton and the walk-ons are the Jordan deveys, Martins and pears of last year.

I hate how everyone response is we're rebuilding so we shouldn't sign anyone. How the f**k are we supposed to get better if we don't bring in good players in lol
