Ellington, patton and the walk-ons are the Jordan deveys, Martins and pears of last year.
At least our HC has a track record of getting the most out of his WR's. That alone gives me more hope than I had for our OL last season.

Well, we say it because it makes sense. It'd make us slightly better next year if we signed him, but doesn't do anything for when our team will actually be ready to compete. That's why we say that.

we are going young this year in most all spots. i like boldin but i am glad we did not sign him as he would only retard the playing time and development of our young players which may be our future. sometimes you just have to move in this direction. i think its fun to see a bunch of young hungry kids with a good wide out coach... the coach which we have not had forever in my opinion in this area
IDK, if I had a more positive outlook on ellington or patton I'd be ok with letting him walk. We're basically going into this season with rookies and one solid WR in torrey.

hopefully something emerges from
burbridge, rogers, dres anderson, D white and smelter. ellington and patton are nearly dead weight or maybe a special teams guy

so what. that does not mean the decision not to resign him was not wrong in my opinion. we let joe go, he comes back and beats us, we let haley go ,. he terrorizes us for years. you do not make decisions for your team based upon the fear of what the person you are cutting loose MAY come back and do to you. lol. to many people are scared around here in my opinion. onward and upward with younger players

and If i am wrong i will step up and admit it just like i had to last year. I am sorry but last years fiasco does not prevent me from being high on this years team. part of me really wants to say " i will step up and admit i am wrong unlike others around here" but for the sake of harmony on the zone I will refrain from saying that ... back to boldin, great trade. great value but now it is simply time to let go like we have with a million other favorite and productive players and go in a different direction. some day the team may honor him but i suspect that will really go to the ravens where he probably has his best memories. in a couple of years the team will honor frank gore and just like joe montana. it will be a forgotten thing that he ever wore another teams colors

Sad to realize that the best offensive players on our team last year were 38 year old Boldin and 45 year old Dawson.

No, the best offensive player on our team was Joe Staley.

Really trying to understand...

Why would any Niners fan want Boldin back this season? This team isn't playoff bound, and has a ton of young talent that needs to be tested. What am I missing?
