If the Patriots couldn't make it work, I'm not really sure there is good reason to believe that he will work out anywhere else.
People thought that they were adding an additional receiver in Sanu when it appears that they made the decision to simply replace Gordon.

They need WRs right now. There is no point to stashing him if he's healthy enough to sign elsewhere. This is a way of cutting him while leaving him a little severance package in the form of an injury settlement.

New Orleans is relying on a 34 year old Ted Ginn Jr as their second WR. I think they might try to make it work with Gordon.
