Re-sign C. Hyde, no one is as good as him in free agency. Improve our O-Line and our RB stable will be great. Move on.

That might be the right way to go. Got to see what Hyde is asking for.
Your comparing what the Bears do on draft days to the 49ers? When have the Bears ever did anything right in recent drafts? No,it would not cost the 49ers two 3rd round picks. Swap #1 and a 3rd or 4th rounder, and a late round pick in 2019. No he's being compared to Elliott - Gurley and Bell. Barkley is the best back in the draft, by far. Or you could do as you say, cross our fingers with a back in the later rounds. I'd rather go with a sure thing. Ricky Watters wasn't a bad high pick for us. Although we did strike out with Barlow. Keep in mind Shanahan and Lynch are the new chapter of 49er history and I think drafting Barkely is something they would try and get done.

Pay him 3 yr 15mil or 18, whatever. Point is he almost ran for a 1k yards behind a college line. Upgrade the line, another year of learning the offense and the opposing D s**tting their pants because Jimmy G is taking the snaps, he will probably be a All-Pro.
I agree with you a 100% Jimmy!

Thank you sir, I'll drink to that. Let's keep who we can (there are obvious weaknesses in the chain). We have a great locker room as far as I can tell. He wants to be here, he played hard, and he was productive. I like everything about him.

You're a smart fan my friend keep Hyde in the Bay Area as a 49er.

If you're trading into the top 5 it will cost the 49ers 2nd rounder and likely a 3rd rounder at minimum.

Anything else is just fantasyland thinking.

Considering the number of needs on this roster, that is way too much to give up, especially since Barkley wouldn't be doing crap behind a shoddy OL.

Thank you AB, replacing Carlos makes no sense, he's proven and wants to stay a 49er, pay him.

It will come down to $$$$. If Hyde is willing to take less money, maybe something can be worked out. If he is looking to get frontline RB money, it likely wont be coming from the 49ers. I don't see them overpaying for him.
Yes I have no problem with keeping Carlos a 49er, but if he does decide to leave, we should make a move to draft Barkley. I really like Carlos Hyde and I hope he resigns . But if he doesn't then let's make this move!

Is 3yrs/$18M too much?

Nope, as long as P. Marathe makes it team friendly .

Most of the glaring needs will be improved in free agency not in the draft. And having to give up a 1st 2nd and 3rd is pure fantasy. The 49ers are picking in the top 10. Plenty of value to make a trade. You act as if the 49ers have the 23rd pick in the draft. It will not cost us that much. And the upside is too good to let get by us. This all hinges on what Carlos will do. Carlos Hyde almost rushed for 1000 yards with this shoddy O.line. That means Barkley should get 1300. The talent gap is probably that much of a difference. And you know the 49ers will address any issues on the O.Line this off-season.
