RB Carlos Hyde Thread

I'm Glad we got Breida.. I like his vision, shiftiness, and breakaway speed better than Hyde.

But Hyde was/is Sick. Size, Burst, and agility.

Uh, no.

Remember, I'm spoiled. I saw each one of those 49er Championship teams.

The guy busted his ass, did everything they asked of him, never once complained even though he had to deal with four coaches and four offensive systems in his time here with the team. He's a warrior through and through, not sure how you can hate on someone who did the best he could when served up a veritable s**t sandwich. I'll never have a bad thing to say about Hyde, he represented the team about as well as you can despite a lot of difficult circumstances.

I hope he has success with Jacksonville and anywhere else he ends up.

My favorite image of Hyde is him fighting to protect his QB and getting tossed as a result. Great respect.
Happy for Hyde. Gets to play for a contender now. And gets to go back to Florida.

Dude was one of the only players that actually stood up for our QB getting killed too.

Agreed, while he left allot to be desired. He did what was asked the best he could.

My only complaint with him was that while he worked his ass off he never seemed to come closer to realize his potential. Like he never continued to progress outside of being a pure runner... which could be due to the multiple coaching staffs. But his catching, pass blocking and then running full steam into the lineman's back issues never seemed to fade away... they were just as prevalent in his last year compared to his first year.

2015 and 2016 his pass blocking put him up near the top of the NFL. He made some mistakes last year and people turned it into something he always struggled with which was far the truth.

Yeah, I may be using last year against him too much. But again that is another coaching transition issue. Its hard to see the line of where his progression was halted due to learning different systems, leading to missed blocking assignments, or if he just hit his ceiling and wont be anything more than a tough runner with the occasional big play. He kind of reminds me of the RB version of Beathard lol, plays well for most of the game but when that one play is needed or a mistake needs to be avoided... they seemed to always end up with a negative result in crunch time. Either not getting that one yard or dropping a pass or not chipping on the DL that one of our crap guards let through like a turnstyle last year.

Poor Carlos. Feel bad for him.

Why he isn't on the browns anymore lol

Lol

He is from Ohio. Went to Ohio State. Have to imagine he was a Browns fan his whole life. He chose to sign there.

Thats why I feel bad for him. Sucks.

Hes from the cincinnati area. So to assume he is a life long browns fan might be a stretch.

Ohio does have two professional football teams.
That's fair. He could have grown up a Bengals fan.

Yup. I won't forget that. The guy also wanted to be here. He won't go down in lore as a 49ers great, but he'll be one of the 49ers in my personal Hall of Fame, with guys like Arnaz Battle, Kendall Hunter, Donte Whitner, etc.
